Voice of Arizona is proud to announce all of the new features we have to offer.  If you haven't noticed yet, we have also redesigned our website layout as well as the interface.

Voice of Arizona's Radio Show

We'd also like to announce that Voice of Arizona has teamed up with Air America talk radio to bring you, the People, a great one hour variety radio show every Saturday at 10:00am MST starting January 21, 2006. 

Our first radio show will feature "Average american" speaking on his political views and Les Taylor - President & CEO of Achievement Solutions, LLC speaking on ways to improve the performance, productivity and profitability of individuals and organizations.

Voice of Arizona's Website Builder

Monthly Prizes - WIN CASH PRIZES!

Every month, Voice of Arizona would like to award the top three authors with prizes but we don't want to be the ones to make the decision because we feel the decision should be left up to you!  Therefore, we've developed a system we feel will be the most fair way to pick the top three winners each month. 

Towards the end of each month, Voice of Arizona will create an opinion poll featuring the top six, most active writers for users to vote on.  To qualify for this, the writers must have atleast four articles for that month.  After 7 days, the poll will be closed and the winners will be announced soon afterwards.  Should there be a tie, the winner will be picked based off of activity.  This new system starts with the period: February 1, 2006 - March 1, 2006.

Author/Profile Image

Voice of Arizona now allows you to select an image of your choice to use when you write articles and comment on articles.  Of course this tool is optional.  This image can be anything that does not violate our terms of use.  If you'd like to set up your author/profile image follow these steps:

1. Log in to Voice of Arizona.com.
2. Go to your Member Tools.
3. Click "Edit Profile".
4. Where it says "Profile Image" click "Select Image".
5. To use an image from your computer, click browse, find the image of your choice.
6. Click Upload.
7. Select the image from the list on the left.
8. While you're there, make sure all of your information is correct.
9. Click "Update".
10. And You're done.

Article Star Rating System

The article star rating system is a new system implemented by Voice of Arizona to give you, the users, a more graphic representation of where articles stand.  We feel that stars are a very universal way of displaying how good or bad something is.  The difference of our stars from other stars is they aren't based off of 1 and 1/2 stars.  Here at Voice of Arizona, we feel it is very important to be as accurate as possible with everything so we've made it so our stars are "filled" as they are rated in real time.  This means an article with an average rating of 7.7 will technically have 3.85 stars and as it gets rated the changes are made instantaneously.

New Classifieds System

We're really excited about this one, and we're sure you will be after reading about it! We've redesigned our classifieds section to make it easier to use and easier on the eyes!  Now every classified listing gets its own page and we allow you to choose a "package" when creating a classified.  Of course one of those "packages" allows you to post a classified listing for one week FREE.

Politics Section

You've probably already noticed that we've added a new section to our site entitled "Politics".  This section is a great way to get in on the political scene by allowing you to rate and comment on local AND national politicians.  We've also tied all of the political articles into this section and will soon be adding content highlighting the 2006 political season.

Zip Code Search

Voice of Arizona is also very excited about this new feature.  We've implemented a search by zip code feature on our business directory!  We know that most people don't want to have to drive around the city all day trying to find that certain business or maybe that certain type of food, so now all you have to do is type in what it is you're looking for than enter your zip code and then select a radius.  The next thing you know, you've got a list of businesses matching that criteria!

Expanded Content Area

The expanded content area is fairly self-explainatory.  When we decided to redesign Voice of Arizona, we thought it would be best to expand the size of the website so we could fit more content on it.  Thanks to users like you, we keep getting more and more content and continue to expand.
