George Bush is lobbying for an H-1B visa pandemic to hit the skilled workers of this country.  Following the State of the Union speech, George Bush has been stumping around the country pushing his own brand of snake oil.

In Maplewood, Minnesota, for example, he addressed a room full of workers from 3M Company.  Although the audience was probably screened for party-line loyalty, it nevertheless seemed a strange venue to be calling for Congress to take the lid off of H-1B work visas for high-tech workers.

He spewed “I think it's a mistake not to encourage more really bright folks who can fill the jobs that are having trouble being filled here in America, to limit their number. So I call upon Congress to be realistic and reasonable and raise that cap". out of one side of his mouth.

Out of the other side of his mouth he put in a plug for training our own people for the jobs of the future.  "In the State of the Union speech, Bush proposed permanently renewing a tax credit for research and development at a cost of $86.4 billion over 10 years. He also proposed training 70,000 teachers to teach Advanced Placement math and science, recruiting 30,000 engineers and other professionals to become teachers, and doubling research spending on physical sciences over the next 10 years."

Bush’s corporate cronies are shipping not only hi-tech jobs, but manufacturing and now even research and development offshore.  Bush is pushing to remove any effective quotas on cheap foreign hi-tech workers to flood into this country.  An obvious question is where will those jobs of the future be in 10 years once we are trained for them?  India?  China?

And where are we going to get 30,000 engineers and scientists to go into teaching if engineering and professional jobs are "... having trouble being filled here in america..." as he speaks with forked tongue?

Is this another faith based proposal?
