http://www.1480kphx.com/ I don't know how we are supposed to know they are back on the air when nobody tells us? THEY ARE BACK. 1480 A.M. The old line up in the same time slots. I gotta say NPR was better than nothing, but Diane Ream was like listening to paint dry. I really missed and needed my Thom Hartmann show. The conservative controlled media just can't keep a good idea down.

But to show that I am open to the idea of it's success, I called Dr. Mike and spent a few minutes on air with him just moments ago. I gave him a soft ball pitch, we talked racism and his crazy belief that it is intrinsic, but when a private property owner decides to refuse entry to people he does not want there... Well he has a right to do so. Mike disagreed and even attempted a slur at the end saying I was racist and that's what I'm average and he is not. Well, good luck Mike. You have to be able to win an argument on it's merits and without the attempts at personal slurs. Although it was funny. I know you were getting hot. Good luck. You'll need it. |

Liberal talk does fine in many markets, and in all the top time slots. Hartmann is #1, or #2 in most markets for talkers, except when he was in AZ, he couldn't get an audience. I would posit that Portland, Chicago, NYC, Milwaukee, and the other places whre liberal radio does well, the stations are run like businesses. In Phx, my bet is it has been run like a Democratic Party county chair meeting. |

"1480 KPHX is a radio station for people who think. The station caters to progressive visionaries. It’s a place to assemble some of the best radio show hosts in the country. Our hosts speak freely and passionately on intriguing and urgent topics such as health, news, politics, women’s issues, philosophy and more. These are the issues that directly impact our lives now and future generations to come." "Women's issue?" "These are the issues that directly impact our lives now and future generations to come." Oh and Men's issues don't? Sounds sexist to me. notice no mention of the dirty words, religion, truth, honesty... nope, but women's issues got in there. Give me a break. "Philosophy?" Great, the philosophy of "please help us, we are going broke... again" And what is this about Drobney (sp) having a breakdown? Randi Rhoades can drive anyone insane. Bst line at the site is when talking about Dr. Mike's show as a "smash hit". How many times has this smash hit taken a station sown with it? Wow. Good luck. I wouldn't invest too much in it this time. You know who I'm talking too. |

| I'm down in the valley for the next week, so I'll listen, and see what's up. But like I said, if they can't run it like a business, then 16 months, maybe 18.
