Take a good look. What we have here is a crying shame.
A crying shame because of the hypocritical arrogance of this man to think that he can sucker the Average American into buying this as genuine. It is so … so … Republican?
It seems that it is all about him. His wife and kids are apparently a family of no value. The way he has thrown them under the bus is the most shameful part of all of this.
This is a quintessential new age Republican: he speaks with forked tongue. But he does provide an authentic symbol for the party of “Family Values” and other shallow do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do bumper sticker level quackitudes that pass for ideals.
Good article, Mody, but looks like it's a big HO-HUM! I believe politician's sexual deeds and misdeeds, like everyone else's, is a personal matter - and not worthy of gossip or media attention.
Ah, but only among sexually-repressed Puritan-descendents could a tale like Sanford's gain traction and generate enough prurient interest to sell newspapers.
Sanford plays it like a cello! One good tearful confession deserves another, and another, and another. Only in the Bible Belt could a savvy politician parlay a sin into an opportunity to buy votes as forgiveness.
There are far better reasons than enjoying good sex for dumping this hypocritical loser!
