At the beginning of 2007 the democratic party had the presidency locked up. After the disasters of PNAC, or as some call it the Bush Administration, a democratic nominee should have been a shoe in and it was theirs to lose.

Now here we are just a little over a year later and they've done everything in their power to do just that. LOSE!

They, along with the corporate media, threw all their best candidates under the bus and made them irrelevant. The ones who were sincere in their beliefs to stop the war, give decent health care, do something about economy were ignored in lieu of this wonderful "Historic Election" They were so hyped up about the first "woman" and first "black" running for president that they failed to look at how many votes they would lose by running their politically correct canditates.

Now I as an independent  have no decent choices in the next election.

Today I was in my car and listening to VOA and had to turn it off as I couldn't take the Hillary love fest and the Obama bashing any longer. Let me say right now that I am not an Obama supporter it's just that there are no good candidates to support.

What I can't understand is that everyone is more concerned with irrevelant material than what the candidates would actually do while in office. No one discusses how they would or would not help this country. No, they are more concerned with flag pins, holding hands over hearts, what Hillary exagerated about and on and on.

Let's start with Hillary. I'm more interested in how she has voted since she has been in the Senate and what she is now saying that is in direct conflict with her votes. I am more concerned with her hawkish stance on the middle east and whether or not she would lead us into a policy that could possibly destroy my grandchildren's future. I have looked at her voting record and here speeches on the floor of the senate during the original invasion of Iraq and I don't like it and don't believe her 180 now.

Obama has also voted in his best interest and not stood on principles about the Iraq mess. He say's he wouldn't have voted for the Iraq thing initially and did make speeches against it but that is not knowable. I would like to say that all the mud sent in his direction has nothing to do with his ability to become a leader of the free world and what it is really about is ............the four letter word that is the elephant in the room, race. As a supporter of Clinton said during his impeachment, "when they say it's not about money..it's about money and when they say it's not about sex....it's about sex". Well they all say it's not about race but...........

Then there's McCain. The hero who is not a hero and who's thinking about war has the potential of destroying this planet with the BIG ONE that we used to dread in the 50's.

John McCain was a Naval Office who got captured in Viet Nam. Nothing heroic there just bad luck. But while a POW he asked for, and received, special treatment from the enemy which is in direct violation of the military code of conduct. This came from his own mouth in interviews after he was released. I might have done the same thing in his place as he was badly wounded but what I would not have done is claim that my weakness was heroic and trade on it for 30 years. Just a simple google search will show that he admitted to asking for and receiving special treatment because of who his father was and that particular enemy did not give special treatment without something in return. Also I don't see any former POW's calling him a hero either. I personally think that this man is insane and I dread the fact that he may have access to the most important button in the world with the potential of blowing up the world.

So, where does that leave me as a voter. I have no one to vote for so I'm resigned to either voting for the lesser of evils or not voting at all. My money's on Obams as the least objectionable but .................................................shhh, he's Black and has a minister who makes what appear to be racist statements. What's a fella to do?
