After watching the Cardinals lose to the Raiders it got me thinking. Can you name a worse franchise in the history of football, basketball or baseball than the Cardinals? In basketball the Clippers come to mind, but now they have turned it around. Baseball my Red Sox and the Cubs. But we all know about the Red Sox and the Cubs were in the playoffs in the 80s. Plus those teams had success throughout the years and were solid organizations. The Tampa Bay Devil Rays come to mind but they have not been in the league that long. I can compare one pro football team to the Cardinals even though they had a playoff appearance in the 90s. The Detroit Lions could be compared to the Cardinals for being awful for the past 20 years or more. They even had Barry Sanders and could not win. How many times did we have to watch Detroil on Thanksgiving day with a 3-9 record. But the Cardinals in my opinion are the worst franchise in the big three sports.

Second topic: Can you name me a bigger A hole and disruptive player in the NFL or any other sport that Terrell Owens? Think about that one. I thought maybe Rodman, but he was a winner and his team mates loved playing with him. I can't think of any in baseball or football. Sure there are a lot of jerks in the sporting world, but they don't single handedly ruin a team. Pout all the time and make everything about them. Terrell Owens will die rich and lonely. Oh I thought of one in baseball, Barry Bonds. But even Bonds is not in the same category as Owens. Give me your take.

I respect the athletic ability of these guys, and I begrudgingly accept the massive amounts of money the top players make, because frankly, they pull in the money. Same for Hollywood movie stars.

But like it or not, these people are role models for our children. When they become the worst examples of human beings, when they act out in juvenile or antisocial ways, when they bite the ear of their boxing opponent, or just strut around all day like impossible primadonnas who think the world is theirs and they can treat people as they please, then I have no problem banning them from the sport forever.

Tolerance only goes so far, even for a liberal.

Come on Tonyd, the real problem is at the top...BIDWELL.

I don't care which one of them you place in charge, they all suck ass. The Bidwell legacy will always be associated with a losong team. Remember the movie Kingpin with Woody Harlson and Quaid, not Dennis, the other one whos name escapes me, he was in Vacation too as Cousin Eddie, anyway, when Woody's character Munsun blew it and lost the championship his name became assosciated with screwing yourself out of victory. I say we replace that name (Munsun) with BIDWELL. Low draft pick numbers, usually one or two because we suck followed with stupid ideas like Rice in the twilight of their career, and a multi-million dollar stadium are not enough to even give us a temporary winning record. There is a station in town that will give away $10,000.00 every time the D-Backs win 10 in a row. They have offered the same if the Cardinals win back to back games....thats sad.

The Bidwell family needs to be stripped of its ownership of the team. Let Jerry buy that too, at least he can get a team together and bring home a few wins, to hell with a title, lets just try having a better then 50/50 season first...

Family Bidwell is to football what Liberalism is to the Golden Age of Profitability, a death nail.

I probably would have left AA's errors alone, but then he threw in a political line, so he is an activist and needs be to called out.

1) The name is BIDWILL, not Bidwell. The Cards have been in town 20 years. Get it right. BIDWILL

2) Rice? Are your referring to Jerry? He never played for the Cardinals. Your point may have been better made if you had talked about Emmitt Smith. He did play for the Cards.

Now, back to the article.

I wholeheartly agree Tony. The AZ football Cards are the worst. The Bidwills make me sick. They are sitting on millions of dollars (under the salary cap) and the offensive line, is well, offensive. A real owner committed to winning (especially one that many talented key offensive players and a decent defense) would have spent the money on the O line.
Not the Bidwills. Never the Bidwills.

A sad story !! Got this on line today, thought it fit well...

Phoenix, AZ-- A seven-year-old boy was at the center of a Phoenix
courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who
should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his
parents, and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping
with child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be
maintained.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his Aunt beat him
more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When
the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy
cried out that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning
that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the
judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who
should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal references
and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary
custody to the Arizona Cardinals, whom the boy firmly believes are not
capable of beating anyone.
