Bush’s escalating disapproval rating, which according to this abcnews article has hit an all-time of 70%, provides little consolation to those who had to watch the American public endorse his destructive policies in the form of a re-election in 2004.  While a case of forgiveness could be made for Bush voters in 2000, given that he ran as a relatively unknown moderate tax-cutting conservative, the American public shamelessly upheld policies such as the 2001 Patriot Act, 2003 invasion of Iraq, and 2001 Kyoto Protocol rejection with the 2004 re-election.

House Republicans shocked the White House -- and the stock market -- by rejecting the Bush administration's gargantuan Wall Street bailout today.
