It seems that this forum is becoming more hostile. We seem now to want to attack certian regular contributors, and it seems that it is becoming more personal. No longer are we showing tolarance towards differing views. Are we learning the wrong lessons from the other side? Do we finally feel our oats (the progressive wave) and yet must turn on each other because one is too liberal, or not liberal enough? Maybe we seek the same kind of faux power that the neoconservetive movement had. Can you all tell me what is going on?
Ya know, this is an important time in our progressive movement. We are at a point where we can seize a moment and turn what has been the normal for the past few years around. However, perhaps we choose to seek dominion instead of respect as it seems in the past few articles. We must note that if we choose to only have our own brand of "liberalism" promoted on this forum, above and beyond the other more moderate, or more conserative voices this forum will fail, simply for not letting all people express themselves.
The last few posts, attacking posters personally, using racialy charged words against each other, or expressing justification for using demeaning and dehumanizing phrases is just what the neocons would like to see from us. If we continue, we will loose focus on legitimate discussion, and this will be a forum of attack...much like listening to a liberal version of Rush Limbaugh.
I would like to see this forum go back to discussion about topics relevent ot the continuation of this great land. We, regardless of whether we like each other or not must come together on some issues in order to promote the common good. We must understand that only one side of any issue is at best only one half of the truth. It is best to discuss, and to refrain from personal attacks and distruction of charater. As you can see from the last six years in our government, nothing comes of it except destruction.
I am calling on all of you to be mindful of the importance of responsibility of free expression. If one is not allowed to express himself without vengance, than there is no freedom at all.
Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall catch hell from everyone.

I have been posting here for a year now. I missed the big hoohah when AA agreed to be the first guest on the VofAZ Show and many liberal members were in an outrage. Several of them left for good out of protest.
Before you think that AA was unfairly treated, I should tell you that after I posted my first article, authored by www.MoronInCharge.com, AA responded in less than a minute (without reading my article) with the very clever retort, "Well, at least your name is fitting, you are a moron." In other words, AA kind of earned some of the animosity he acquired.
Then there was our three week season of darkness with DHard. Now he was a real hater. You missed the whole episode.
People have come and gone, tempers have flared, insults were hurled, and yet the site went on. Excellent articles were still posted. In between the occasional rude language and miscellaneous garbage, fine discussion could still be found.
This particular run on attack articles (mine included) and offensive language is nothing new, and left alone the general tendency of rational people is to move on, and back to the issues at hand. Nothing happens here that doesn't happen in the real world.
