I expected you all to be all over the story about those vetreans who are in building 18 of the Walter Reed Vets Hospital. I am acually surprised at the lack of discussion, seeing that part of the debate about "pulling" funding for the Iraq conflict is opposed in part (of course by those who support this conflict) is supposed to be "supporting the troops".
I ask you, does this mean only supporting them with bumper strips and cheap magnetic ribbons made in a foreign land? Does it mean only supporting them until they are injured, or killed? Now is the time to use the "power of the purse" to insure that the men and women who fight in Iraq, and have fought in any conflict get what they need to got on thier feet when they have done thier duty. This to me is not a political issue, it is a human issue that no matter how you feel about the "conflict", we should all make sure that if we are going into battle, we have the best equipment, and the best protection against the "enemy". Surely, that will help compliment the best fighting force in the world. (I think so anyway). If the soldier is injured, he/she and his family should be honoured by us (the taxpayer) with the best care possible.
I think our congress should not be shy here. It is time to direct the monies we pay to help those who have given so much to us, and have sacrificed much. Support our soldiers by expressing to your representitive not to let this issue fall away. It is not the soldier's fault that we have leaders that sacrifice nothing at thier expence.
Let's really support the troops. It is time for them to come home.

Digg It!

I brought it up in a comment stream and got nothin'.
I think we have reached "outrage fatigue. "
Perhaps that is the sinister Bush plan. Give us so much to be pissed off about that we don't even know where to start.
