One of the most heart wrenching observations with the war in Iraq and the current uprising between Israel and Hezbollah, is the tragedy for the children. To imagine the sadness, crying and frightening images they must endure daily is incomprehensible. When was the last time you woke up and wondered, “will I die today, or will my family be killed today?” Or as a parent seeing your children murdered so violently from a gun or a missile. Their homes are gone, now in a state of despair and hunger, and for what?

boy_cryingThe warmongers refer to this as collateral damage. How cold and brutal can the inciters of war be? Do they not see the children homeless and the families suffering; do they feel any regret for the damage they have caused? The victims of these wars will harbor anger and will most likely promise revenge, they will carry it with them through the rest of what’s left of their lives.

How does anyone with authority stand by and watch as the destruction continues. Will it be worth it all? Yes, for those who profit from the war and now have fat bank accounts, life for them will be good. Yes, for the chicken hawks in our government who have been salivating at launching this war for years.

Our brave men and women in this war who also see death everyday, they too will have their lives and dreams diminished by their experiences.  For all of our families here at home who also will suffer the loss of a loved one and friends, we must ensure that your families are not forgotten and that you and your children will be taken care of.

In the end, was it all worth it?
