And where the hell was Indy? Oh I know, she was trying to steal pity from some soldier's tragedy in Iraq yesterday.

That "some soldier" is my brother-in-law. Who lies in a hospital in Germany, not knowing if he will walk again. His helicopter crashed due to mechanical failure on May 31, 2008 just south of Baghdad.

That "some soldier" is a 20 year vet of the Army, much spent in the Special Forces, who has won many awards, including the Distinguished Flying Cross.

That "some soldier" is a great husband and  father, whose service to this country has caused him to miss more birthdays with his kids and wife then he has been home for.

That "some soldier" has spent more time in Iraq than he has spent in the USA over the last 5+ years. (Not including his time in Afghanistan)

That "some soldier" is man that I got to spend quality alone time with at Christmas-going to his base, sitting in his helicopter, and praying over the memorial to those fallen.  It was a cold and windy day as he and I went to the memorial at Fort Campbell.  I will never forget the moment as he ran his hands over stone engraving as he read the names of his friends that gave their life for our country.

My brother-in-law is not special.  He is just a soldier who was willing to give up his life to serve our country.  As it stands now, maybe he only has to give up his ability to walk.

He wouldn't want your pity, his family doesn't want your pity and neither do I.

My brother.  God Bless him.  He is "some soldier"
