We don't need more border agents!
Once the fence is in place, America will have precise control over who and how many enter our country just as the Hoover Dam controls the Colorado river.

| I agree . . . The border agents ain't cutting it! More will just be more that ain't cutting it! But, build a 40 foot wall and they'll get a 41 foot ladder! And if our country continues to spiral downward (and it is), There might be a day in the very near future when we "true Patriots" have to scale the wall to get into MEXICO! I countered the shadow people score for ya . . . A 10

I also gave you a ten. With so much corruption in Mexico, and the flow of drugs and money, the border agents are susceptible to wanting more. This does not mean they are all on the take, but just a few makes a big difference. For those who protect our borders honorably, I thank you and appreciate you. It is quite clear that our government is corrupt. It begins with the White House and spreads throughout Congress and to the State levels. Will there ever be trust in those we vote into office? Minimal at best, we are human beings, and with that comes all the frailties. Now is the time to find those who have an honest and credible heart and soul. The President and his administration are the true wolves in sheep's clothing.

For Average American First when did i ever say the entire border patrol was corrupt please read the article again..."adding more agents just creates more >>>opportunities<<< for corruption" Meaning, if there were no agents to bribe there will be no corruption at the lower level.. There is one problem with that theory. It would mean we would hold higher ranking officials liable and that is not going to happen. So they train thousands of agents to become scape goats...how sad For Promethus. The 40ft wall 40ft ladder cliche in so worn out. Did you get that off fox news..lol It's sure better than open land with water and food breaks that some idiots provide them along their illegal journey. I have to admit this was funny>>>There might be a day in the very near future when we "true Patriots" have to scale the wall to get into MEXICO! < The President and his administration are completely evil...

"Americans lack ethics and will sellout like you at the drop of a hat." Followed by, "They just busted an agent that was making money hand over fist allowing thousands of illegals to cross." You are saying I read something more into, so be it.

Many Americans lack ethics and will sell out at the drop of a hat. Really? I don't believe that "many" Americans lack ethics. I don't believe that they will sell out at the drop of the hat. I do believe that a few bad actors fit that description, but I am not willing to paint Americans overall as ethic deficient or sell outs. Perhaps Shelton is hanging out with the wrong people.

"We need a physical barrier and America will not accept anything less. " What? JW, you show me a 50' high wall, and I'll show you a 51' high ladder. There is no barrier you can build that will keep people out SO LONG AS THERE ARE JOBS WAITING FOR THEM. There is a program on the internets for employers to verify that Social Security numbers match names. It is 100% guarunteed to stop illegals from getting employment. Make the use of the employer verification mandatory, then watch as 6 muillion Mexicans get on Greyhounds back to Mexico, and 6 million Europeans and Asians get on planes back home... then if you want still to build a fence so bad, you and JD Foghorn Leghorn Hayworth can do it on your nickel.

The solution is multi-pronged. Secure the border through manpower, some physical barriers (but not a border long wall), and surveillance. Then, as Phaedrus notes, make employment of illegals (from where-ever they come from) impossible by enforcing the laws and using employer mandatory computer programs.

The solution is multi-pronged.<< Then, as Phaedrus notes, make employment of illegals (from where-ever they come from) impossible by enforcing the laws<<< Do you mean enforcing like they are now in 2006...ohh and like they did in 96 and 98 and 2000 and using employer mandatory computer programs<< if no fence how about this solution.... Any illegal we catch gets a mandatory three year sentence in a federal prison? That should stop it really quik!

Ok Shelton, You have to catch them. How? As the laws stand, it is pretty darned difficult.(See Chandler AZ police fiasco a few years ago) If it were that easy, our law enforcement personnel could go the day labor centers, rallies, and hospitals and arrest them. Are you advocating racial profiling? i.e. the cops could pull someone over for "looking Hispanic" "looking Asian" Could law enforcement ask for their "papers?" And would driver's license, social security card, voter registration count as "papers." They can be easily forged, right? The solution is multi-layered. 1) Secure the borders. (that in and of itself is a multi-pronged approach). 2) Remove the incentive for the illegals to come to the USA by enforcing employment rules. 3) Imprison BOTH the illegals AND anyone who knowingly hires them. But you can't have the police driving around and questioning everyone who looks Hispanic. Like you said in a previous post "Are you truly free?"

Digg It!

As with any group of people, there are a limited few who have broke the law, but that does not define the Border Patrol as a whole and you should really think twice before issuing such a charge.
