- Younger people That is pretty much everyone except Bob Dole, although Libby Dole might work. How old is Dan Quayle now?
- Regional Pandering Gov. Chryst-FL, anyone from Ohio who isn't under indictment, or anyone from Pennsylvania. At the end of the day, no VP since LBJ has delivered a state that the top of the ticket didn't already have. But no indictment group is getting smaller for these guys.
- Screw You Karl Rove, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh - the beauty of these picks is they heavily pander to the racist, hateful base. Although Rush already has a criminal record, and O'Reilly is a falafel sex freak, and I'm not sure, is Rove gay? Shouldn't he be in the Tough guy group?

| I hear Republicans saying a McCain win wouldn't be another Bush term. Mc Cain may have a shot if he chooses Colin Powell, Hagel or what about Jeb Bush? If Jeb was to enter as VP candidate the GOP will be out in full force to hold onto the Whitehouse. The Bush crime family is a force to be reckoned with. |

They have gone tooth and nail over the Iraq war. Hagel has said some very uncomplimentary things about McCain. I don't think that Powell has any time for the NeoCon wing of the Republican party anymore. They ruined his reputation. (he was partly to blame for not resigning when he figured it all out). Many promises will be made and the drunkeness of power is like Lay's potato chips, you can't just have one. The Bush crime family will want more than Papa, late bloomer and drunk GW. Jeb can possibly repair the damage that GW has done to the "good" Bush name. We know Neil isn't even a consideration. Jeb was the good son. The one who did everything right to position himself for the Whitehouse. I'm sure he still wants to get there even if it means through VP. McCain is an old man, this is probably a good chance if any for him. Imagine how ticked off he is at his brother that had it all laid in his lap for the taking, and with no hard work involved. Look what it got us. Experience and intelligence matter. |

View this Comment I agree that the reputation of certain names will result in certain outcomes, such as the examples you have given. Jeb has been very quiet and not seen as destructive as GW. It would result in a parade down memory lane though with Schiavo, Elian and Katherine Harris which would be difficult to overcome. Maybe you're right and it may be awhile before he can overcome the examples I've given above. The Republicans are masterful in the political arena and just maybe they can change the public memory of events. Must we forget about the swiftboat attacks. They can pull this off. |
