John - what IS that on your trouser leg - Reaganesque trickle down?

Last month, John said that "to promise a withdrawal of our forces from Iraq, regardless of the calamitous consequences to the Iraqi people, our most vital interests, and the future of the Middle East, is the height of irresponsibility. It is a failure of leadership.''Dirty_Diaper

All but the memory-impaired know John has strenuously resisted offering even target dates for troop withdrawals - that would be tantamount to giving terrorists a timeline for defeat! During the Florida primary debates, he went off on Mitt Romney for just suggesting he supported a withdrawal timetable.

But, here we are today - with John solemnly intoning: “Next January, the political leadership of the United States will change significantly. It is important that the candidates who seek to lead the country after the Bush Administration define their objectives and what they plan to achieve not with vague language but with clarity.”

And, apparently after completely embracing the new Republican agenda, John proceeded to describe that the Iraq war would be won and most American troops would come home by 2013 if he is elected president.

Furthermore, only a small contingent of troops, in non-combat roles, would remain in Iraq five years from now - the drawdown would be possible because al-Qaeda in Iraq would be defeated and a democratic government would be in place and operating.

Well whatever - John, you may believe this is a clear and unequivocal statement of the CHANGE WE DESERVE, but it sure sounds like the same old Republican s*** to me!  Maybe that reliable old Republican detergent - SURGE - would help you clean up your act!
