That Hillary! She has had a change of heart. She is now the populists’ populist. It seems she has heard us, and is demonstrating great flexibility. How nice.
Her campaign is faltering. She is well behind Obama in fund raising, and he has come out of the last eight state races ahead in votes and delegates. He has crept slightly ahead on total points as well.
So Hillary is now pledging to be tough on the special interests, reigning in big oil, insurance interests, credit-card companies, student-loans and especially Wall Street investment companies.
She spoke to a crowd of General Motors workers and executives in Lordstown Ohio, where she hammered her new direction home: “For seven long years, we’ve had a government of, by and for the special interests, and we’ve had enough. It’s time to level the playing field against the special interests and deliver 21st-century solutions to rebuild the middle class.”
What a novel approach to the White House. I can see the Barons of Business as usual snickering up their sleeves as their bought-and-paid-for candidate does this neat back flip, knowing full well that when she lands upright on her political feet in the White House, it will be business as usual. Tell ‘em anything you have to dearie, but remember who holds your IOUs when it comes time to grant audiences to the petitioners beseeching your special consideration.
It has been suggested that Hillary is channeling John Edwards. He field tested the populist message, and despite Edwards’ lack of victories in the polling, she must have seen something in his approach that caused her to don the mantle of the populists extraordinaire. She must have noticed that something in her message was amiss, because she has lost the cloak of Democratic Presidential candidate in waiting, pretender to the throne in the dynastic succession.
Go for it Hillary. Might as well. Seems like we are not hearing you when you deliver the message of “I know how to play the game of business as usual”. Do we dare hope that you can hear us now?

Toobad the democrats are running so many conservatives this election.
It is going to be hard to sort out which 'team' to root for.....
Does America need another orator, another cheerleader sitting the Oval Orifice, doing the bidding of the hands that feed it?
Doing AGAIN, what works, instead of what's right?
