EXCERPT: I notice a lot of things on this forum.  Mostly, I notice that many of you seem to have a mission against a certian politican.  I think that sometimes they deserve your wrath, and sometimes, to me at least, it is the same rhetoric that is spewed against progressive people by the neocons.  My dream is, that someone pay attention to the game, rather than its players.
Obviously, the neocons have an "ultimate goal" in mind, and they are tring to achieve it with...

EXCERPT: I think it is a good thing that now we as Americans are debating the conduct of our leaders in thier choice conflcit in Iraq.  However, I am somewhat put off by the timidness in words and phrases used to discribe the justification and motives for the act itself.  If one listens to the debate, even the dissenters are not giving righteous meaning the way the American people were sold into using military force in Iraq.  Somehow, when I listen to the debate, I see that ALL...

EXCERPT: Today, Prime Minister Blair of Great Britian announced that his nation would begin withdrawal of British soldiers from Southern Iraq.  He does note that the area is still dangerous and not without violence, but he states that "...the next chapter in Basra will be written by the Iraqis".  Also, less reported in the western media is that the Danish are pulling out of Iraq as well.  They have about 700 men, and will pull all of them out by August.
The point...

EXCERPT: I expected you all to be all over the story about those vetreans who are in building 18 of the Walter Reed Vets Hospital.  I am acually surprised at the lack of discussion, seeing that part of the debate about "pulling" funding for the Iraq conflict is opposed in part (of course by those who support this conflict) is supposed to be "supporting the troops".
I ask you, does this mean only supporting them with bumper strips and cheap magnetic ribbons made in a...

EXCERPT: Hey...It came to me that the only ones that truely benefit from an attack on Iran...if successful is Isreal.  We know that Isreal is prodding by them to get the US to invade Iran, lets not be bashful here, or afraid to tell the truth.  So lets go for it.  YEA !!!  Lets invade Iran.
Of course, someone has to pay for this invasion.  And it would be detrimental, and demoralizing to the troops to have to fight there to "defund" them, or...

EXCERPT: Ya know, I must be the only one on this planet who has a progressive thinking, and and also belive that we should not give any quarter to anyone who has voluntarily signed into the military service, and who has refused to report for duty, or has left his post, or refused orders to go with the rest of the people he has trained with to active duty.  In fact, I belive that they should be subject to the justice of the military court, and should serve thier jail terms. (or...

EXCERPT: I see the push of impatience by my progressive friends to instantly somehow unravel the deep web of lies and propaganda we have experienced over the last 6 years or so for a new direction for our great nation.  Of course, the other side is taking this as "infighting", but that could be that we forgot somehow that one of the hallmarks of democracy is public dissent.
However, I see what is really happening, and mind you, it will not happen all at once.  I see a...

EXCERPT: I did not really know how to put this in order not to anger people, as I try not to do here.  Now, however, I think it is time to say it simply because it is inhibiting us as a nation, and as individuals from really making a change from what has been going on for at least the past 6 or so years in America.
As well as being "sick" of right wing partisan rhetoric, I am also sick of left wing partisan rhetoric.  The simple black and white linear thought processes to...

EXCERPT: I work with younger children every day.  Kindergarden age through about grade four.  I see all kinds of children, "good" ones, "bad" ones, and like most children, those who mostly behave, but sometimes have thier moments.  I see what I, and the other staff memebers should teach them, but I also sometimes wonder if we are actually hindering them from the world they will be adults in.
I see the mean spirited assults and failure to debate without...

EXCERPT: Thank you Mr. Durbin for you very to the point responce to President Bush's speech.  I was glad, for once not to hear the "liberal whine" of the past responses that could be re phrased as politcal fodder for the defeatist posistion.  I enjoyed hearing you say that we (the American soldiers especially) the people of this great nation have given alot...blood, money, time, and effort to the Iraqis so that they can choose the kind of government they want.  We...
