EXCERPT: If I had the time to pick apart the VOA McCain endorsement, I would still be here long after Obama's votes make him president next week, but I don't. And that's the good news; VOA's editorial staff's opinion-- or whomever is responsible for drinking the red kool-aid that created the delusional glowing assesment of him (omitting Palin, I guess) -- is NOT shared by millions of Americans who likley read more then the winger posts on this site.
Perhaps if more like me had not been driven...

EXCERPT: Based on ad hoc street interviews broadcast by local television stations in Phoenix, Arizona yesterday, it would seem that Sarah Palin's unwed, underage, 5 month pregnant daughter is not a factor related to Mrs. Palin's fitness to serve as vice president of the United States-- or in any way a reflection on the judgment of the career politician who chose her to do so-- John McCain.
I strongly disagree with that position, and fortunately I found someone-- a conservative!-- to...

EXCERPT: A different answer to why McCain does not know how many houses he owns is because they, like all the McCain property, are in his wife-- Cindy's-- name!
Why? Well, the convenient answer is a prenup agreement. Another is, to protect investigation into McCain and her father's 'help' installing McCain in Arizona politics and therefore a clean line of association with the crime lords of Phoenix-- like Kemper Marley-- who supposedly established the Budweiser...

EXCERPT: When Obama arrives home from Europe will he still be a candidate? Or President?
I just heard the Obama speech in Berlin. "Tens of thousands" at the event? Looked like (at least) a hundred thousand to me. Television cameras on the crowd gave a mostly 30-45 year old age impression, curious to welcoming attitudes. Smiles. Rapt attention mostly.
And, I cried! By speech conclusion the darned speech brought tears to my eyes. ...

EXCERPT: How can we NOT be talking about this? The New Yorker magazine cover "The Politics of Fear"?
And if you're paying attention, "moralist" Bill Bennet and James Carville are already jostling to control the frame!
Bennet is claiming that folks who do not get the satire are reflecting the fact that Americans do not know who Obama is AND that liberal New Yorker magazine is too "smart" (anti-intellectual pandering) for its own good (sub-text: liberals...

EXCERPT: This is interesting.
A piece of the subprime loan meltdown puzzle that goes to criminal individual behavior rather than what amounts to criminal deregulation.
Question is, did the system play them or the other way around?
"The FBI says it has arrested 406 property market players as part of a crackdown on alleged mortgage frauds worth an estimated $1bn (£500m). The arrests include housing developers, estate agents and mortgage brokers. Reported mortgage fraud has soared...

EXCERPT: Is this joke funny?
Question: How many liberals does it take to screw in a light bulb?Answer: Thirteen. One, to hold the light bulb, and two dozen more to define “screw”.
If so, who knows more, and some about conservatives?
If not, why...

EXCERPT: Or maybe it's just his strategists. From a great piece:
David Plouffe, manager of Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign, keeps sending me e-mails asking me to cough up money because the presumptive Democratic nominee's fundraising is, supposedly, as pure as the driven snow. Somehow, my name got on Obama's list of prospective suckers, and for months I've read this song and dance about how he has freed himself from the tentacles of special...

EXCERPT: "2 to 1" is a light overstatement. It is Democrats 9 to Republicans 5, but only pundits like R. Hudson Limbaugh III (and AA) will point that out.
The larger question this headline answers is: "What did ALL presidents accomplish in the last 50 years?"
The answer (and the Brookings Institute article, from 1999 is too dated to include the Bush melt-down of the last eight years) is leveling.
Maybe Democrats outstripped Republicans because the more liberal society...

EXCERPT: To all the what are you doing to create HOW are you channeling your vociferous anti-Clintonism into pro-Obama togetherness? A few examples would be nice. Here are a few of what is NOT WORKING:
A prominent donor to Senator Barack Obama recently sent an e-mail plea to other supporters, asking them — for the sake of Democratic unity — to write checks to Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to help retire her $23 million in campaign debt. Some of the replies are...
