EXCERPT: Below are a couple of quotes from articles at HuffingtonPost about Iowa voters: Example 1: “On New Year's Day Anya Robinson was still on the fence.  "I still am undecided on who I want to caucus for. I feel like I haven't gotten enough information about each of the candidates to decide yet, so I'm just kind of trying to figure out in the last couple of days to figure out who I'm going to be caucusing for, but I know I will be caucusing,"...

EXCERPT: I caught some of Lou Dobbs's show on CNN couple nights ago.  In one segment he had two political "experts" on for him to throw "questions" at.  One was Gloria Borger, I don't recall the name of the other guy.
But in all too typical CNN fashion, he used his pulpit to throw some red meat out there.  In referring to the recent Dem debate, he ranted in a supposed "question". . . to paraphrase:  "What's the matter...

EXCERPT: When I can stand it, I watch the Republican Presidential candidate debates.  Amongst other things, I find it curious how they all mention Ronald Reagan, compare themselves to Reagan, hell, sometimes they seem to imply that they ARE Reagan, reincarnated, or at least that they channel his spirit.  Since they make it clear how indebted the party is to him, let’s examine the real Reagan a bit. Until he ran for the governorship of California, most of us knew of him as a...

EXCERPT: On my last birthday I got a few gifts.  Most were clothes.  This is not unusual for me, since I don't like to shop or even go to the mall . . . A few days later I went to do my laundry and opened the new shirts.  In looking for the washing instructions tags (I have paid the price before for ignoring this step) I did notice one thing that I thought was unusual.
On one shirt, the other "tag," the one of origin, said, "Made in Vietnam."  On...

EXCERPT: (I was going to add this to the string going on this topic. . . but it got a bit long for that . . . . mea culpa.) MIC (in a response) forgot that the NRA position is that children can have guns also . . . no?  Remember some years ago when the City of Phoenix passed an ordinance, in an attempt to limit gang violence, that children (minors) could not carry a gun in public unless they had a notorized note from their Mommies?  As incredible as this sounds . . . there...

EXCERPT: The recent fund raising revelations by several of the Presidential candidates has me reviewing my long-held opinion that our government, particularly the federal government, and particularly the Presidency, is for sale to the highest bidders, has been for a long time, and likely will be in the future.
Oh, we can and have made some inroads . . . mostly local ones, and there are a few Representatives and a Senator of two who do not seem totally beholden to big money, but they are in the...

EXCERPT: Impeachment is a Constitutional  . . . what shall we say?  A right? An important redress?  Note that with a President it is the House of Representatives that brings the articles.... it begins with them. People often say that our founders created all three branches of government equal...or they use that curious phrase, "co-equal" --  (how that is different than "equal," I dunno, but) . . . I say, "Co-equal The House of...

EXCERPT: A question came up at work and the sports experts did not know the answer, not for sure, even those who, well, you know the type, they seem to know it all, or think they do . . .  they know more stats than I do . . . why I don't post much here on sports . . . but looks like not too many do . . . so I throw this out for comment, or "Reply Post:"
Has any professional team in a major sport, let's say, in U. S., in Big Four (Baseball, Football, Basketball, Hockey)...

EXCERPT: Today's (Sunday) editorial section of the Arizona Republic(an) has yet another editorial by Doug MacEachern that proves many things.  Primarily, it proves Doug(easier to type than your last name, forgive me) still can't admit that he was wrong when he voted for the dumb rich guy instead of the smart rich guy, and the whole country is suffering for it.
It also proves that Doug cannot admit a mistake, or maybe, like his hero, Dubya, he can't think of one he ever...
