Don't believe media slogans like "YOU DECIDE 2008" and "AMERICA VOTES 2008" and every other empty slogan they shove down our throats. It's a big crock of s***.
I'll be upfront and say that I support Joe Biden in this race. We all have our favorites but unfortunately MSNBC, CNN, FOX, and every other false-news network have already tilted the race to marginalize great but lesser known candidates like Biden in favor of novelty acts like Hillary (the wounded, victimized woman), Obama (the not-so-black man living the white man's American Reality), and John Edwards (the sorry ham from the South who cries every time he makes a bad decision).
Top-tier and second-tier? These terms were invented by political hacks in order to control the way Americans cast their votes next year. If you use this bulls*** language then you are just aiding the machine in suppressing your freedom of choice. I wish people in this country were smart enough to see through the empty promises, the tired slogans, and the 1,200 idiots who participate in these periodical polls.
You guys on this site always talk about your liberal views gaining momentum in elections and for that candidate to come along who obeys the law, understands the Constitution, is smart enough to lead, isn't Bush, is capable of getting things done. So then why would you vote for Hillary, Obama or Edwards? Don't you see that they just want to be President? So-called "second-tier" candidates like Biden want to be President in order to bring the parties to a realistic compromise on legislation, enforce the laws, and end the wars.
Here's the truth, Biden is not a millionaire and he's not a liar. He may be the only genuine, honest candidate running and he's being ignored because Americans are amused by candidates who came from humble backgrounds, gained no experience or knowledge of the issues and decided "I can be president because I'm charismatic" or "I can be president because my husband is Bill Clinton". Biden is not for sale nor has he compromised his views.
Forget Al Gore, John Kerry, and Hillary Clinton. Let's make the right choice this time and vote for someone with the right experience and qualifications. Let's support and vote for Joe Biden.

The problem is that Joe hasn't done anything that would grab the media's attention! No arguments on his assets, but he has to door say something that is going to get him noticed. Joe is great about saying stuff (and at times too much), but it has not been crafted well enough to get the notice of the camera lens.
As far as the media goes, yes the do a relatively poor job of showcasing the candidates, but I have to put a lot of this back on the people who run campaigns and the political pundents. They have internally developed these polls to determine what words they need to say to be more effective. The media just picked up on this methodology and ran with it creating an even more chaotic push on the polls. Those candidates with the cash are able to work within this system the best. Those that don't have to find a way to break through to get noticed.
A real problem is the way that the American public looks at all of these candidates. First off, they are incredibly apathetic to the whole process! It saddens me to watch Jeno Leno when he asked people who the Vice President is and they have no idea! Secondly, our society is a A.D.D.! Candidates have to make an impact in a short period of time whether the message is right or wrong. Why do you think all of these candidates are showing up on all of the goofy late night and daytime talk shows. They talk about no real ideas or policies. They just create an image that they can laugh with the rest of us. Like they are our next door neighbor, except that they are very rich!
The debates have not done all that much either. In fact, they are getting down right frustrating. Now we have too many of them. No one gets a chance to clearly get their message out. They only have two minutes to articulate an issue that, in most cases, deserves more time.
There are a lot of good candidates out there that want to do the right thing for the country. They are just not able to due to the fact that they are not millionaires or have the proper connections. I hate to say it, but we really need to take a look at the political process and make it better for the people to understand what each of the candidates is all about.
One of the ideas that I had was to get all of the candidates whoa re running, have them state their platform on the issues and either publish it in a book or at a non-partisan website that cannot be influenced by any outside forces. If something like this was put together, with no political persuasion, maybe, just maybe, people would look at the information and make at least a somewhat educated decision.
