Japan, South Korea, even India and China are getting into the drivers seat. 

The greedy arrogant narcissistic CEOs in Detroilet have not listened to the market or read the hand-writing-on-wall since the 1970s.  They have championed the immediate profit margin over the global reality that has been emerging since the end of WWII, and America’s auto industry is in the Federal Government's ICU today because of it.

The government promoted, and still promotes COMPITITION by opening our markets up to non-American manufactures.  The BIG 3 management neglected development of dependable and economical vehicles in favor of the larger profit margin BELCHFIRE EIGHTS, STREET BATTLEWAGONS and  ROAD LEVIATHINS. 

Oh yeah, that worked for awhile.  And while the BIG boys were lining their pockets the Japanese and others got their act together and quietly accelerated into the future leaving the BIG 3 behind. That was not the government’s fault.  It was lousy short-sighted management by our American Captains of Industry.

The government was promoting the holy grail of Conservative free market capitalism – COMPITITION while bankrupt American management was busy lining its pockets with bonuses!  It was the greedy American Industrial Moguls that were primarily to blame for our dilema today. 

To the extent that CAFÉ standards are being imposed at all, however belatedly and timidly on the dug-in heel-screeching calcified management in Detroit, Houston and other HQs of American mismanagement, the conservatives have BIG GOVERNMENT to thank for supporting the endangered species called American competitiveness.  

Come on you Cons - let's hear it for CONPETITION!  And BIG GOVERNMENT!!
