For any that listened to the Voice of Arizona Radio Show this Saturday, you may have missed the world premiere of the “Who Said That?” game. It came towards the end of the hour, and apparently the internet stream went out for the last 15 minutes, leaving everyone outside of a five block radius of the KPHX 1480 studio listening to static.
The game had a less than auspicious debut. Little know real-life quotes of our President, George W. Bush, were mixed in with infamous and notorious quotes of select fascists and dictators from the last century. I planned to read the quote, and then a caller from the studio audience would give it their best guess. We failed to produce the requisite ding-ding bell to reward a correct answer, or the annoying buzzer to herald a wrong answer. Additionally, in the interest of time, our fine hosts Mike and Michelle fielded my questions rather than the studio audience. Not surprisingly, they had a perfect score: we had rehearsed the quotes the night before, and they subconsciously retained the correct answers.
Well, you will just have to trust me when I say that it is both hilarious and frightening when you read these quotes at random to your friends and family and ask them to identify the speaker. I have included the full list of quotes compiled for the show, of which we only made it through the first four. Try it on someone, and see if he or she can pick out our President from the dictator. It’s not easy. If they get a question wrong, I have included a short list of additional quintessential Bushisms to ask as follow up questions. These may be low-lying fruit, but can be used to soothe a bruised ego.

Low-lying fruit picked right off the Bush:
They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.
Most imports are from outside the country.
It’s clearly a budget. It’s got lots of numbers in it.
The thing that’s wrong with the French is that they don’t have a word for Entrepreneur.
The United States is looking forward to eating Indian mangos.
I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.
I do know I'm ready for the job. And, if not, that's just the way it goes.
See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over for the truth to sink in . . . to kind of catapult the propaganda.
