| Thank you Voice of Arizona Staff. The site is now free from the childish banter, with a return to the more pressing issues that affect our lives...such as, who should we let sit next to us at the movie theatre.

| MIC. You got your way. Leave it alone. That was un-necessary. And quite arrogant. |

| I agree Indie, and I apologize. It is not exactly taking the high ground to make a joke at the expense of someone who is not here to defend himself. But when he was here, he didn't do a very good job in defending himself either. What has changed? I think you had a couple of good one-liners at his expense as well. Anyway, arrogance has nothing to do with it, and neither does gloating. You know my sense of humor, and you know that on occasionally it can be a little "evil." I will no doubt dish it out and take from other members of VofAZ as well. "Bring it on."

| Exactly the point. He isn't here to defend himself. And I believe it was you that noted that he was probably mental or had some form of autism. So it is a cheap shot to pile on. And I have freely admitted that I have gotten my shots in. A whole lot of us have, but he is gone now. Leave him alone. I am sure he is crushed. However, I never wrote a comment "diagnosing him." (Bill Frist, anyone?) I didn't advocate banning him from the site without letting him know he was violating the rules, as set forth by V of Az. It was your "Declaration of Independance from William" that first suggested that he should be done away with. Interesting that I never used the word "gloat", but you did. Shall we get out the book of disorders on that little tidbit? My articles and comments came to this: William was a problem. His outbursts were detracting from the spirit of the site. The people that keep this site interesting were fed up. Either we could solve it ourselves by ignoring him OR V of Az needed to lay down the rules clearly and sternly. Give William a clear and defined set of rules. If he could not or would not obey, he would be subject to sanctions, up to and including banishment. Keep in mind that people were extremely patient with him. They tried to help him improve, suggesting that he take classes, use spell checker, etc. He was feeling the love. (maybe misplaced, but it did him good and he wrote about it). Then, over the course of one weekend, BAM! articles directly naming him or F'ing him were all over the front pages. What kind of reaction could anyone expect of him? So, he was banished with a caveat. He can come back if he behaves himself. This is fair. If he violates the rules upon his return, then he should be canned for longer, or maybe forever. |

| Interesting that I would think you were accusing me of gloating when you say "MIC, you got your way." I shouldn't presumptively read things into the words of others. I shouldn't assume that you may be projecting a little bit of your guilt on to me. I shouldn't think that your overreaction may in part be to convince yourself that you are walking the higher ground and showing William the magnanimity that many of us failed to demonstrate. I shouldn't believe that some of this arrogance is on both sides. Indie, you are my friend and I doubt very much that "William" will change that. But I will defend myself from self-righteous criticism. I made this an issue because when I see something I think is wrong, whether it is someone spamming a website or someone destroying a country, I will speak out. I thought it had to be done - at least put on the table for discussion. We've done that; we made our joint solution; Voice of Arizona made theirs. I will not assume the role of the "heavy" here. I apologized for my last departing joke, and I'll do it again now. I'm sorry. Now let's move on. |
