It seems like a lot of people are having a hay day with this little prostitution scandal over Spitzer and I guess I can understand it due to his history of being on the opposite side of the law for such a great time but is it really that bad?

He allegedly spent $80,000 on prostitutes but as long as it was out of his own pocket and wasn't contributed or tax payer money I don't see what the big deal is.  Ok, so he wanted a good lay from an stunning woman (they've got to be at thousands of $$$ per hour) but it isn't like he was playing footsie in a bathroom stall or molesting children like the Republicans like to do.

In a way I don't think it is worth throwing Spitzer in jail because he has done a great deal of good for NY and I really don't think this is worth throwing him in jail.  But then again he did throw a lot of people in jail for doing exactly what he is being accused of doing so should he be thrown in jail?  I guess something should definitely go against his record for this whole ordeal but I'm not sure he needs to be thrown in jail.  His life is pretty much ruined now because realistically he can no longer pursue a political or legal career.

Prostitution really isn't that bad when it is controlled like I'm sure the Emperor's Club controls it.  It isn't like they've got girls on street corners hassling people.

All in all my whole stance on this issue is prostitution should be legal in a controlled, classy way.  Maybe people would be more motivated to work if they could spend a good chunk of change on a good lay without worrying about the repercussions.  Hell... if the government wants a stimulus bill I say legalize and tax prostitution.  Who cares if the lawmakers think it is "unethical" or "immoral" - if you don't agree with it don't do it but don't ruin it for everyone else.
