We are now being treated to the details of the Bush Regime’s bungling of the Katrina recovery effort.
It seems that our good friends around the globe, who in gratitude for America’s past generosity in their times of need, tried to return the favor.
Here are some excerpts from an article in the Washington Post, interspersed of course with my succinct comments:
Most Katrina Aid From Overseas Went Unclaimed

“Titled ‘Echo-Chamber Message’ -- a public relations term for talking points designed to be repeated again and again -- the Sept. 7, 2005, directive was unmistakable: Assure the scores of countries that had pledged or donated aid at the height of the disaster that their largesse had provided Americans ‘practical help and moral support’ and ‘highlight the concrete benefits hurricane victims are receiving.’
Liars! In fact the NecoNazi Administration that has captured our Executive Branch dis’d them!
“Many of the U.S. diplomats who received the message, however, were beginning to witness a more embarrassing reality. They knew the U.S. government was turning down many allies' offers of manpower, supplies and expertise worth untold millions of dollars. Eventually the United States also would fail to collect most of the unprecedented outpouring of international cash assistance for Katrina's victims.”
How can OUR government let our citizens suffer and die while it bungles, or worse arrogantly refuses, the offer of assistance that could have prevented it?
“More than 10,000 pages of cables, telegraphs and e-mails from U.S. diplomats around the globe -- released piecemeal since last fall under the Freedom of Information Act -- provide a fuller account of problems that, at times, mystified generous allies and left U.S. representatives at a loss for an explanation.”
I am ashamed for us. It is as bad to decline a helping hand as it is to decline to help when it is needed. We are painted as ungracious at best, arrogant at worst, by this obscene regime in control of our Executive Branch of the Federal Government.
“And while television sets worldwide showed images of New Orleans residents begging to be rescued from rooftops as floodwaters rose, U.S. officials turned down countless offers of allied troops and search-and-rescue teams. The most common responses: "sent letter of thanks" and "will keep offer on hand," the new documents show.”
I nearly cried from shame and rage when I first read this article. You should too, because it speaks very poorly of our nation as represented to the people of the world by this incompetent malevolent bunch in the Executive Branch (and their enablers in the Congress).
These people need to be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail!!

Digg It!
I don't know what Con-dah-leeza sees when she looks in the mirror . . . Here is what I see (and probably what most of the world sees)

Many years ago there was a publishing/advertising company in St. Paul MN by the name of Brown & Biglow. Their billboard advertising theme was "Repetition breeds Remembrance." Of course the underlying truth is that they subscribed to the philosophy that repetition made it a Fact in the Great Unwashed Mass’ collective mind.
The politicians of today have embraced that philosophy wholeheartedly. If they repeat a lie long enough and loud enough and insistent enough, it will become for all intents and purposes a FACT!
Cheney is the epitome of this philosophy, the Dark Prince of repetition of a lie in the face of the facts.
"Echo-Chamber Message" indeed!!
