Has everyone completeley flipped their lids in this once great nation? Can someone tell me why year after year this president only speaks of some foriegn desert war? Is he really the president of Iraq and I somehow missed out on who the real president of the United states is! Can someone explain why The United States somehow doesn't even take a backseat in the plans and vision of this President of Iraq, George W. Bush. It is all IRAQ< IRAQ< IRAQ. I don't mean to be rude, I even have an Iraqi friend, but I care about here! not there. Here now for us, And here now for my children. And the future here for my children. After this "PRESIDENT OF IRAQ" Finishes his Iraq this and Iraq that B.S. He finally gets to the Place where we all live . . . kind of as an afterthought. Did I wake up in a really bad dream to find myself in a nightmare where we would be better off with a chimp throwing darts at a globe. I am ashamed to see the state of our neglected Union, except for the rich. And I feel bad for the Americans in Iraq because those poor kids should be home and If this president Can't be the president of the U.S.A. He should Pack up and takes his family and staff, and supporters to go play their stupid game over their . . .where he is the president.

| One night, President Bush vows to reduce America's dependence on Middle East oil by cutting imports from there 75 percent by 2025. The next day, his energy secretary and national economic adviser say that the president didn't mean it literally. "What the President meant was that alternative fuels could displace an amount of oil imports equivalent to most of what America is expected to import from the Middle East in 2025..." An Administration official, who spoke only on condition of anonymity, said, "Bush wanted to dramatize the issue in a way that every American sitting out there listening to the speech understands." Oh, that explains it! Thank god it wasn't teleprompter failure! |

Digg It!

Going into the State of the Union speech, the most recent Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll shows health care at the top of Americans' priorities for 2006 and two-thirds say it is time to reduce troop levels in Iraq, while just 28% support maintaining existing levels -- 45% of Republicans polled say it's time to reduce troop levels, up from 32% a year ago.
Look at the proposed budget. The President has no money for new domestic iniatives like health care or any other program requiring major expenditures.
The Iraq War is a quite expensive tin can tied to his Administration's tail.
And, the President has to set the tone for the November elections with this speech.
State of the Union?
With a job approval rating hovering around 40% for months now, this speech was less about the Union than about a failed Presidency.
