Is David Paterson the new comedian of New York City or the new Governor because I couldn't tell while he was being sworn in today. In this tense situation I would not want my Governor cracking jokes about other officials in office, and what was the that joke about his different relationship with his wife. Is he V.I.P client #10 and his wife #11?. He has to tread carefully because I think that the people of New York have a short fuse with their Government right now. I don't know but will see what happens in the upcoming months for New York I'm skeptical.

| Well Jamie, I think you need to understand different people bring different personality traits to a job. Some peeps bring dignity and respect for life to the office, and then commence committing genocide in Iraq. Others tell jokes. Some spend their free time with hookers. Gov. Patterson is pretty well liked, from everything I've read about the guy, why not let him be himself, and we'll let Emperor s***forbrains screw up something else this month, his laissez-faire, libertarian anti regulation stance has killed the banks, so what is next? Insurance? airlines? cancer research? |

| The gay ex-governor of N.J. and his wife are going through a brutal divorce. She's claiming he hid his secret life from her and wants to be compensated. An aide of the ex-governor has "come out" with testimony in the divorce hearings claiming he slept with both of them! At the same time! So no, no one should be surprised at this stuff, ever. The jokes continue to write themselves in this country...

| Randi Rhodes thinks this guy is wonderful and will work across party lines. Randi and her Mom were so touched by his speech this morning that it brought them to tears. I don't know much about Patterson but it has to be an improvement after Spitzer. Time will tell. Imagine bringing Randi Rhodes to tears, this guy will be her God next to Obama. |

Digg It!

I think New Yorkers are more realistic than most Americans in that infidelity doesn't surprise them and send them into a panic and seizure mode. I would guess that the last thing they care about is a serious governor.
What I would like to have answered is why are Americans surprised and appalled when they find out that their public officials, whether it's Bill Clinton, Eliot Spitzer, or low-life imbeciles like Ted Haggard and Newt Gingrich, aren't faithful to their wives?
They lie to us all of the time and their careers depend greatly on our voting for them. If they're willing to lie to us, why would anyone be surprised if they lie to and cheat on their wives?
People need to seriously grow up and understand that it's a simple matter of garbage in, garbage out. Politicians come from our families and our community of friends and neighbors. They are us and I'd say they've been reflecting our values quite well lately!
You never know, the next governor of your state might just be your dense, incompetent neighbor, Steve. And you know how much you hate that prick.
