After nearly a year-long hiatus, the radio show is back on 1480 KPHX.
Since the show ended last summer, the website has undergone significant upgrading and the community has expanded beyond Arizona to include all fifty states in the Voice of North America network. That means there will gradually be more voices heard and much more people who will get a chance to listen to the show for the first time and even participate in real time. I will get to that in a minute.
The first show will air live this Sunday (Feb. 17) from 2 PM to 4 PM. Two hours of interaction on the discussions that matter to you will definitely make the show much more enjoyable.
The new format is also slightly different. First, I will be back to host the shows but with the accompaniment of three co-hosts and VoiceOfArizona.com contributors: Mike (aka MoronInCharge), who has been a frequent guest; Average American, another frequent guest and host of a conservative VoiceOfArizona.com show, and Bob, who appeared several times on the show and is one of the creators of Voice of Arizona. Click here for more information about the hosts.
Second, because of the new two hour runtime, we will have more time for call-ins and feedback from members who are able to resist the urge to call in but still have good points to share. Currently there is a Contact the Show page in the Radio Show section of the site that allows you to post comments before and during the show. Thereafter, that page along with a recording of that week’s show will be archived for further comments.
The hosts will be reading the posts on the Contact the Show page during the show and may read some of your comments live on the air. (Eventually we will add a chat interface so members can communicate in true real-time.)
What about the old shows? Nearly all of the radio shows, including Average American’s conservative shows, have been stripped of commercials and made available on the Show Archive page for your enjoyment. We will soon be adding descriptions of the old shows, including names of guests, initiatives, etc. and a way to add comments.
The new show is expected to run for one year and I can’t think of a better year to give our members a bigger platform to voice their opinions. Whether you want to talk about Iraq, global warming, the election, the economy, the VoiceOfArizona.com Radio Show is your chance to get your opinions out there and change minds. We look forward to building a larger community of ideas and voices.
Thanks for your involvement,
Michelle
