The divisiveness continues but the rhetoric of the extreme Right Wing here is bottoming out.

AWJEEZ

BAA Boy, in ass-kissing, first-name mode, waves the white handkerchief, calling for a collective undercutting of our elected officials. AZRWinger gallops from article to article crying, “The Socialists are coming!” Tom Carter, pretending to define the parameters of his vision, flails us with Internet links. Hunter? Well, Hunter’s tinfoil antennae still pick up signals well beyond my comprehension.

Hey, reality check!

You guys lost! You lost because, in the name of ideology, you trashed the Constitutional concept of government of, for and by the people. I don’t expect you to ever get over it but your kneejerk reaction to the Democrat’s damage control measures is just so much irrelevant sour grapes.

During the past 12 years, Republican power politics has made a shamble of our domestic and foreign policies and mortgaged the future to the extent that recovery will be too long in coming.

You, who now cloak yourselves in the respectability of Conservatism and label any and all progressive legislation as Nannyism, are the vestige of a long national malady. You continue to be the problem rather than part of the American majority seeking solutions.

No one is for big government, per se, and your patented argument that government isn’t the answer to domestic ills or international strife is simply delusional - a triumph of ideology over sweet reason.

To label as Liberal or Democratic, the expectation that government should effectively and efficiently serve the needs of the electorate defies logic. To argue for the privatization of government services is preposterous unless it can be demonstrated, case-by-case, that the private sector can deliver the intended services as effectively as government but at a lesser cost.

To permit tens of millions of Americans to risk their lives and fortunes daily because they don’t have adequate health insurance coverage while pushing the nation farther and farther into debt to finance a failed exercise in imperialism is about as un-American as it gets. Gaming the legal system to permit spying on Americans ain’t my idea of what our democracy is about.

In fact, your refusal to talk to your perceived enemies, whether Iranians or Democrats, has led to your marginalization. Americans have roundly rejected your Might Makes Right philosophy, whether in Congress or in the international forum. Americans have condemned you Wingnuts, you Compassionate Conservatives, you NeoCons and, for my money, each and every Republican who lent tacit approval to the policies of the Bush administration. There is NO tomorrow for you guys.

I listened to VoA’s radio program this morning and found it a poor substitute for Car Talk. Rather than being any sort of dialectic dialogue, the program was another, too-predictable, “Yeah, but how about…” sideshow.

So much for BAA Boy’s entreaty that we all reason together. Neither he nor his fellow travelers have ever really fulfilled the role of the loyal opposition, Their loyalties lie somewhere outside the Constitution, save for the First Amendment, and their exercise of that has always been pretty shallow, like their thinking!

No one can be right all of the time, but it helps to be right most of the time.
