The Sneak Invasion: Save the Family

I think we are falling into the political "phrasing" of this issue.  Please note that the current law has always been that only naturalized American citizens (those who have come into this country legally, have gone through the stages and processes to become American citizens) can partition on behalf of their family members to come to America.  What they seek to change in this new bill is to eliminate the "family preferance" that is currently the law, to a preferance of skill and education.  The law would "grandfather" in those applications recieved before May 2005, and after that, no other would be granted the preferance.  Please note too that the law, if passed applies to ALL persons, not just Mexicans as I have seen we keep referring to in this article and others when writing about immigration.

At this time, no illegal immigrant, and no "green card" holder can partition for a family member.  So, the arguement that you are putting up here is actually non existant.  Again, we comment without self examination of the document, or listen closely to the debate.  This is exactly what Pearce and Pullin depend on.  They want you uninformed so they can "fill in the blanks" with rhetoric and propaganda because they do not have a clear plan on what to do about the problem. 

I ask those who comment here on this issue to read the bill, review the debate clearly and from all sides.  Knowledge is the best weapon against fear.
