Saturday, May 12 at 10:00 AM: The Final Show

The VoiceOfArizona.com Saturday show will no longer air on 1480 KPHX after today.

This decision was made on Thursday after sincere consideration. VoiceOfArizona.com will not be affected by this change, however. Furthermore, we are considering venturing into FM radio and opening yet another free speech forum to attract more insightful members who will add to the quality of our community here at VoiceOfArizona.com.

Today is our final show and we want to hear from you: 602-258-8800.

I thank you for your ongoing support for our radio efforts.

As much as I love KPHX and it's former incarnations AAPHX and KXXT, I feel this is genuine step backwards. Hopefully there are two steps forward awaiting to make up for the stumble.

I am trying to put together a weekend show that will be the radio equivalent of RealTime with Bill Maher, but this will require sponsors with money up front, and probably will not be a reality any time in the near future. If the VofAZ internet radio plans start to materialize in the meantime, this may be an alternate or parallel route to consider.

For those who might be wondering, this will not affect the Sunday Show in the near future.

As Michelle said there are ideas being floated around in every direction.

I would ask all of you to do the site a major favor however, add more writers. Regardless of political affiliation it would be nice to see some more fresh blood. One thing that you will hear on the Sunday show for the next several weeks is additional promotion of the site.

If you have friends who have read but not become members encourage them to do so. VofA swag will be given away to new members. I will explain more on the show tomorrow at 6pm on 110AM KFNX. This is one of the greatest outlets we have in this country to truely debate issues and to inform each other of what's really going on, whether we agree or disagree and even organize for what action we as members might want to take. Soon other states will join and the more writers we have here the better responce we can hope to see from those other sites.

I would like to personally thank Michelle, Brian and Mike and the crew at VofA for giving me the opportunity to be on the original Saturday Show. If it were not for this site I would never have started writing and getting more involved, I certainly would not have had the opportunity to be on radio and I sure as hell would not have been in a position to serve them and this site and our members by hosting a second show.

Michelle and Mike, as you know already, anytime you want to get back in the saddle its your show. The listeners of 1100 am KFNX could learn a bunch from you two.

But what would I know, they are just some of the very best average Americans.
