Mission Accomplished: A look back at the media's fawning coverage of Bush's premature declaration of victory in Iraq

"On May 1, 2003, President Bush landed on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln aboard an S-3B Viking jet, emerged from the aircraft in full flight gear, and proceeded to "press[] flesh," as The Washington Post put it, as he shook hands and hugged crew members in front of the cameras."

Q Me? How does the President intend to commemorate "Mission Accomplished" after five years of death and destruction?

“MS. PERINO: What you're referring to is the banner that ran -- that was aboard the ship five years ago. President Bush –

Q I'm talking about the anniversary tomorrow.

“MS. PERINO: Yes, I get -- no, I understand. That's the anniversary of when that banner flew on that ship. President Bush is well aware that the banner should have been much more specific and said "mission accomplished for these sailors who are on this ship on their mission." And we have certainly paid a price for not being more specific on that banner. And I recognize that the media is going to play this up again tomorrow, as they do every single year.

Balderdash!  That arrogant SOB (Spawn of Barb) used our men and “that ship” to leverage his political ambitions.  FYI Dana, it was the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln.  Too hard for you to remember?

And that codpiece!  What a buffoon!  What an under developed juvenile mentality!!  George W. Bush is trying to erase the “Wimp” moniker he wore into the White House back in 2001 by spilling the blood of our fellow Americans serving our country in our military and bullying us and the world.  He has used us and our military as his own personal sandbox set pieces.  He should celebrate the fifth anniversary of that unseemly act by strutting around with that codpiece on his head.

Who in God's name put this SOB in the White House with all these grownup toys!?!

Impeach the Bu$hite Regime NOW!  Every second we wait puts America and the world in greater danger!!
