Elections have consequences, to the victor go the spoils, the 2 parties have different philosophies. The Republicans ideas ruled the roost for 8 years, and that drove us into a ditch. There is a new sherrif in town.

And the last part, another failed presidency? Which would be the other failed one? Oh, the FT would likely be referring to the retards who created the crisis. The predecessor. Maybe you can tell us what the Republicans plan is, other than to do nothing. Or say "no" more loudly than they did yesterday. Or is it "cut taxes" or "tax cuts"?

As for what the TARP is turning into, it is looking like a cross between the Bad Bank idea, and Nationalization. Most of the smart economists when talking about what to do, ramble on for some time, then settle on the need to nationalize the banks. The precedent for that is the Reagan S&L fiasco. The govt took over the S&L's, created the RTC to deal with the toxic assets, and ran both sides really nicely.

You are correct, Conservatives are calling for less. Less socialism packaged as "stimulus." Less pork barrel spending to reward Dimocrat special interests labeled as "moving forward." Once again the OBummer administration tells the big lie claiming the Republicans want to do nothing, ignoring the McCain alternative that costs about half as much, uses a proven approach and gives short as well as long term stimulus. 

Phaedrus suggests an approach like the RTC to rescue the financial sector. Where is the spending for this in the so-called stimulus bill? Oh, NObama's tax cheat secretary of the treasury has a "plan to plan to come up with a plan" costing another couple trillion or so more. What judgement, what intelligence, what forward thinking from the lord of hope and change!  

OBummer outsourced the so-called stimulus bill to San Fran Nanny and Dingy Harry who doing what comes naturally larded it up with socialized medicine, payoffs to the NEA and profligate state governments along with a cornicopia of "vital" projects like rain forest exhibits and walking trails. All of it is financed by deficit spending, the very thing you roundly condemned in the Bush administration.

What happened to the Dear Leader's scapel he promised to use to cut out ineffective programs? During the campaign I wrote the One was claiming to have a magic wand. Now like magic the budget cutting wand has vanished, replaced by talk of a crisis so severe it requires adopting a failed Socialist model. The Obots dutifully parrot the party line, we know the bill is flawed, ladened with wasteful spending, but, but pass it anyway! The Dear Leader says it's good so no opposition will be tolerated.

But, Hannity lauds Graham's attitude as the GOPhers growing a spine with this:  And things got a little testy, as Lindsay Graham decried the Democrats' lack of bipartisanship, saying, "This bill stinks, and if this is bipartisanship, well, count me out."

Hannity forgot to mention that, on a slim bipartisan vote, the Senate did, in fact, COUNT Graham OUT!
