Alright, here it is at last!!!

Since we are all in a Moe-tastic, group huggy feeling, and none of the Obama hating trolls who lurk here, or own the website have beeen able to uncover, or present one reason to vote for Ms. HRC, then I thought, why not be the one. Be the change you want to see in the world!

So why should we vote for HRC?

More NAFTA
We can get Gingrich and Bob Barr back on the tee vee again.
More Bob Rubin, and the Wall Street Dems.
More cuts to the social safety net, with less hollering from the left
More free trade, NAFTA style, with more 3rd world hell holes.
Healthcare plan that includes keeping the HMO's in bizness.
A Democratic administration that believes in minimizing government oversight, and appointing Randian retards like Alan Greenspan to oversee the little regulations left.
More imported cigars branded Monicas!

If anyone else here has any positive reasons to vote for her, please add them in.

Phaedrus, there isn't one good god damn reason to vote for either Hillary or Obama. The Democrats have two light-weight losers on their hands this year and it shows if you've noticed the way in which they've handled their respective scandals and blunders.

Personally, I'll take Hillary for Bill. I think, despite your fascination with Monica Lewinsky and NAFTA, Bill Clinton was an exceptional president. Your hopes for "change" with the Obama team will be short lived when you reach your reality checkpoint and discover that all politicians seek to establish a political dynasty. Some can, some can't.

Don't be fooled into thinking that Obama is everything but Jesus Christ himself or prepare to be disappointed.

If you are asking for reasons to vote for Clinton over Obama, I'm afraid she comes up short. Let's see. She is determined fighter. As David Brooks said, she has the Audacity of Hopelessness, and it has served her well in pure survival instinct. She is stronger in the debate. But debates don't necessarily win elections: witness Bush vs. Kerry. She has a slightly better health plan than Obama. She has two more years of US Senate experience, although actually less overall legislative experience than Obama when you include State-level politics.

If you are asking why we should vote for Clinton over McCain, just look at their voting records. Clinton might fight as down and dirty as Republicans do, and in that way would seem no different. But their voting records are miles apart. If I have to pick between ruthless, self-serving politicians, I'd rather pick the one who votes my way on the most issues.

As for people on both sides of the Obama-Clinton debate, who simply could not vote for the other Democrat if their man or woman doesn't get the nod, it's childish. Ultimately their protest "nay vote" becomes a principled but tragic "yea vote" against their best interests. Might as well hold your breath: it proves nothing, but kills you if you succeed.

The fact remains that the Democratic Party is split in half between these two candidates. If Obama was the choice for nominee then why do (and will) hundreds of thousands of voters in Pennsylvania and elsewhere vote for Hillary and not Obama?

The majority of Democrats have strong feelings about their choice candidates and the fact that at least 20% of each camp's voters have said their votes are "non-transferable," as Lou Dobbs put it, means that a McCain presidency is more and more likely.

Think about the timeline. If Hillary doesn't drop out and this thing drags out to the Convention, there will only be three months thereafter for the Party to heal itself and for the entrenched Obama and Hillary voters to make peace and support the Democratic nominee.

The truth is that Obama and his supporters want the race to end immediately and Hillary and her equally numerous and passionate supporters want the race to go on. We have to face it: the Democratic Party collapsed under the weight of two of its biggest ego candidates. Just like the Democratic-controlled Congress has failed to deliver on its promises and bring about real change, so too will Hillary and Obama fail because they don't know how to regulate themselves.

Are you ready for the compromise that should have been made last year? The DNC should have realized that Hillary was determined to be president and let her go unopposed by Obama, who could have been reserved as her choice for VP. The reasoning is that (1) if these two egos clashed it would be hell and (2) he is young enough to run in 2016.

If that were the case we wouldn't be in this mess. Phaedrus' Clintonian dynasty would have been realized and Obama wouldn't have had the opportunity and nerve to demean her campaign by insinuating that she's running because she feels that she is entitled or "next in line."

Now it's a hell of a mess and articles like Phaedrus, and admittedly my own articles, have done little to bring the factions together just on this site. Better luck in 2012, right guys?

I agree with your analysis as things stand now. But I am not as fatalistic, and in politics the situation on the ground changes rapidly. Three months is an eternity in politics, so even if this continued to the DNC and badly hobbles both Obama and Clinton in the process, McCain has a strong chance of literally imploding over his staked out position on Iraq and his do-nothing position on the economy.

The polls were wrong in Iowa, and the polls were wrong in New Hampshire. I don't necessarily trust the polls for Pennsylvania either, and it is really beginning to seem like the Party is ready to put this one to bed regardless of the PA results.

I hardly think that Obama -- or anybody for that matter -- should have dropped out last year to make room for Hillary Clinton. Despite what the "heir apparent" might think, she is not an incumbent President, and she does not deserve an automatic nod from her party simply because she has brass balls and won't take no for an answer. I am at least proud that the party machine did not succumb to that temptation, and anoint their inside candidate long ago. That truly would have made a mockery of the democratic process, much more than the bad situation with not seating delegates from MI and FL.

Bob, you are right that the race is collapsing from the weight of the egos of 2 of the biggest Democratic Stars - but their names are Bill and Hillary. Hillary doesn't have equally numerous supporters, either. If she did, then she'd have an equal number of delegates. Maybe you flunked math, or have trouble with reality.

Let's go back to 3rd grade, remember Mrs. Thomas, and the "less than" < and "more than" > exercises? OK if Barry has 1610 and Hillary 1480, which has more delegates? They aren't equally numerous, are they? (hint 1610 > 1480, by 130 actually)

As for the back room cigar smokers picking the candidates in advance, the whole point of the primaries is to do away with that.

And Lou Dobbs numbers were 19% of Obama voters would vote for McCain, 29% of Hillary voters. But those are polls during the heat of the contest, and I think reflect people who are awfully hot under the collar. Once Clinton pulls her head out, and does the math, and realizes she won't be pulling down 2/3rds of the remaining delegates, her supporters will then look at the choices, and it is either 4 more years of McBush, or Obama.

You are full of hope, Phaedrus.

Notwithstanding your attack on my mathematical skills, even though I didn't make any mathematical calculations, Hillary and Obama are close in delegates and votes. This isn't like McCain who was a thousand delegates ahead of Huackabee. The Democrats screwed find themselves wishing for a winner-take-all delegate system, but instead they have a really close election. Like it or not, it's close.

Will Hillary win? I don't know, but I've never ruled out the super delegates overruling the will of the people in the event of Obama being perceived as the weaker candidate or pure party politics.

Don't count McCain out either. He may be near kicking the bucket, but as things stand today he is still kicking and facing a dream come true: a fractured opposition party.

Hillary Clinton is divisive, and we do not need more of that.

Her pursuit of the Hispanic vote is ok, but she, or at least her campaign people, have tried to rope the Hispanic American community off as her private reserve. That daydream does not fit with reality, and is an insult to the independence of the Hispanic American voter.

OK, so the Dems are fracturing, and it is benefitting McBush, and that is who's fault? Obama's because he is black, and stealing the election by winning 11 straight, and 12 of the last 15?
If Obama had lost 11 straight after Super Tuesday, we'd not here from him again, until 2016. Hillary is behind, and losing steadily, and she won't just admit it.
As Iraq continues to spiral into chaos, and we see more dead children on the evening news, and Emperor s***forbrains, and McBush keep calmly assuring the US public that all is well, we are turning the corner, Mission Accomplished, etc, then McBush could lose by 15 points. Obama is leading McBush by 8 now, after the whole Rev. Wrong thing, and Hillary is leading by 3-4 over McBush.
