The Bears are back in the Super Bowl for first time since winning Super Bowl XX in January of 1986. The last time the Colts were in a super bowl was when they beat Dallas in Super Bowl V. and they resided in Baltimore.

 

Vegas have the Colts favored by 6 ½ points and the total points at 48 ½. I thought it would be interesting to find out what the writers on this site think about the game. Who will win? Who has the best players? Or if you even care. Etc. Over the next 10 days post your predictions and after the game we will know who was right and maybe stir up some good conversation. Note: there has never been a team in the Super Bowl with an African-American head coach this year both teams head coaches are African-American. Things are changing we even have a women Speaker of the House.

 

I will take the Bears +6 ½ points and the Colts to win the game. It should be a close and high scoring game.

 

 

CHICAGO (Jan. 21, 2007) -- It took 41 years for a black head coach to make it all the way to the Super Bowl. Lovie Smith did it Jan. 21 on a snowy afternoon in Chicago. Four hours later, his good pal and mentor Tony Dungy joined him. Not one, but two black coaches meeting in the nation's biggest sporting spectacle. It's historic. And it's about time.

Change has come appallingly slow. But now two of the most decent, deserving men have pushed the NFL forward. And that is a very good thing. "It means a lot," Dungy said after his Indianapolis Colts beat New England 38-34 in the AFC title game. "I'm very proud of being an African-American. I'm very proud of Lovie."

And Smith equally so of Dungy.
