An extraordinary display of raw political talent could trump Obama’s ‘pretty speeches’ and rally the religious right

The enthusiasm generated by Sarah Palin, the Republican party’s new “northern star”, on her first tour of Middle America this weekend has revived Senator John McCain’s presidential campaign to such a remarkable extent that she is outshining her running mate.  

 

It is an unprecedented position of power for a vice-presidential candidate that carries great risks and rewards for McCain as he adjusts to operating in the shadow of a political phenomenon.  

 

As the McCain-Palin road show took to the suburbs and small towns in the Republican party’s target states, fans were running to see her rather than McCain, the 72-year-old former Vietnam prisoner of war.

I see that the Senator is taking the Miss Alaska contestant with him.  Like any good flimflam man he knows a crowd gathering assistant when he sees one.  His snake oil isn’t selling so good, but she does get the crowds.  He’s grinning from ear-to-ear, as his new attraction emerges from the sandwich board of his campaign. 

   

Barack Obama and Joe Biden are each out on the trail individually.  Each is a crowd pleaser.  Each can attract the crowds with substance.  Their crowd pleaser is their message and they themselves. 

  

The one good thing that came out of this staged circle-jerk was that the Repbulickin’s have replaced their former cheerleader, Dubya, with a very attractive cheerleader.   

  

Give me an “Oh”…   

   

Give me an “Bee”…    

   

Give me an “Aye”…    

   

What a relief.  She will be much more attractive in that short skirt than Dubya is.
