Ok so after Sen. Ensign's affair went public, now we got Gov. Mark Sanford R- SC flying off to Argentina to get it on with his mistress. What is it with Republicans, that they can't seem to be faithful to their wives, or abide by the vows they've made to their wife, God and in front of their families? I mean, is fidelity only for the little people, in the Republican playbook?
Also, do we know if his mistress is an American citizen, or is she an illegal immigrant? What's wrong with American fur-burger Governor???
And why couldn't he have let the Lt. Gov know he was leaving the country, so that someone was minding the store?
Question, who is the big winner in all this?

Are you guys talking about Gov. Mark Sanford - Democrat? Anyway, this episode gives new meaning to the phrase hiking the Appalachian Trail. Yes, you can be sure that Gov. Sanford was thoroughly enjoying the those peaks and valleys during his weekend excursion, exploring every little nook and cranny. Magnificent scenery in that Hill Country. Did you know about about the impressive Appalachian slot canyons? |

Jun. 24, 2009 at 07:17:10 PM That would be quite a resume enhancer. If only he were a Democrat! ...... View this Comment postie, You are correct. Neither party has a clean record when it comes to this s***. You can probably name as many dem's as I can name rep's that have done this sort of thing. The t*t and twat,,,,err t*t for tat thing is not the domain of either party. Here is the issue as far as I see it. Republicans preach family values constantly. It is the mantra of the party. "Vote for us, we are superior because we believe in family, guns and God." Yeah, well I call bulls***. It is the hypocrisy that makes it so ridiculous. Now, having said that...I was disgusted by the Olbermann and Maddow show on MSNBC tonight. I have been at work all day and I wanted to see what was happening in Iran. That is a huge story. And I think they spent too much time on Sanford. Just as Fox would have if it had been a democrat. We have some serious crap going on in this world. The Sanford affair was worth about 6 minutes of airtime at most. As a country, we haven't learned a damn thing. If it f***s, it leads. If it bleeds, it might get a mention. And yeah, I am pissed off!

| I have to agree with you Indie Damn did I say that? Beatings in the streets of Iran. Bombings in Iraq. This story didn't deserve more than a mention. So I guess it's better to have no values as a party that way you can't let anyone down. After all it's just sex....right? |

Way too much coverage considering everything else that's going on. It's not exactly a slow news week. And as Indie says, it's all about the hypocrisy. If a politician makes his hay by preaching family values and condemning sinners, and pulls this s***, it simply unforgivable. The sex scandal itself means absolutely nothing to America at large. The wife should and will have the only and final word on that. On the other hand, if it turns out that Sanford financed his romp in the Argentinian Pampas with taxpayer money, then this story rises to a whole new level of impeachment and prosecution. |

| Yeah, I think for once we are all in agreement. The story should have had a fork stuck in it early this morning when it was fully cooked. /span> /span> I simply went to the Bloomberg channel. It seemed to be the only one dealing with other issues./span>

+++ Amen. I'll state it clearly as well; those who live in glass houses, shouldn't cast stones. And Gov. Sanford, formerly Congresscritter, made his career as a Major League Stone Caster, 2 time MVPer. His rants about Clinton, Lewinsky, et al are legendary, only slightly behind Mssr.s Rep.s Gingrich and Hayworth and Sen. Vitter. If the rightwingers wanna pass a law barring adulters from holding public office, and from owning property or businesses in excess of $80,000 fine, lets do it. |

Digg It!

So, while Gov. Sanford was rejecting stimulus money for his citizens, he was getting his own stimulus package. Oh my!
And did he spend S.C. money for his illicit travels? At the very least he took a government car to the airport.
No winners, except the comedians.
Here is something interesting though. I was listening to Hannity today. He had Michelle Malkin as a guest. They both were upset about the story-taking the 'he did a bad thing" tack. I will be interested in how they will continue to promote Newt as their hero in the coming years.
