VP Chainy justifies the domestic spying scandal by pointing out that we have had no terrorist attacks on our soil since 9/11.  And, incredibly, he and other nabobs have painted the Clinton Administration with the responsibility for 9/11.
 
The unarguable fact is that the only spectacularly successful attack on American soil by foreign terrorists occurred a year into George W. Bush’s reign.
 
Seems to me the score is Clinton zero, Bush one.  Bush wins the dubious prize for not defending the American people.  And that is an all time record for any president!  Yet he has the unmitigated gall to claim the crown as defender of the American people!

AJ Gonzales said in his senate hearings on the unwarranted secret spying on Americans shenanigan that our enemies were surely watching and grinning at this leak.  Baloney!  What about old "Dead or alive Osama" in his cave as he and the rest of the world witnessed Bush's "deer caught in the headlights" reaction and the subsequent "panic" picture of the American people painted by this regime.  The smiling started with the broadcast  pictures of the look of bewilderment on "My Pet Goat's" face on 9/11.
 
How does this gang in the White House get away with this time-after-time? 
 
Following 9/11 the Bush Regime mounted a mammoth on-going “Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid” campaign to scare the American people witless.  And it seems to have worked!
 
“Patriot” Act?  9/11 - be afraid.
Iraq Aggression? 9/11, WMD – be afraid.
Spy on your neighbor? (Remember that one?) – be afraid.
Unwarranted secret wire taps?  9/11, terrorism, we’re at war - be afraid.
Spying on Americans?  9/11, terrorism, we’re at war, I’m the War President - be afraid, be very afraid.
Gulf Coast disaster? 9/11 …?
 
“Proud to be an American” bumper stickers and flapping flags materialized on cars as people headed for the shopping mall to be patriotic.  Proud of what?  “Embarrassed to be an American” should have been the theme as the Bush Regime painted a picture of us as bewildered and frightened children afraid to travel and cowering inside our duct taped houses.  This is the picture of you and me that this nabob held up for the rest of the world to see.
 
9/11 gave this dastardly regime a sledge hammer to pursue its sinister machinations and get its way in every way, and its way is not simply un-American; it’s anti-American.
 
Export jobs.
Push tax breaks.
Import cheap labor;
Recession and job loss;
Tax breaks for the wealthy;
Offshore industries and research;
Eliminate Estate tax for the wealthy;
Import cheap goods for the unemployed.
Make tax breaks for the wealthy permanent;
Promote offshore corporate HQs to avoid taxes;
Cut funding for government programs for the needy;
Privatize Social Security into a Wall Street crapshoot;
Drastically cut the dividend tax rate for wealthy investors;
Implement CAFTA for cheap Central America corporate labor;
Cut the guts out of government's programs for the middle class;
Ignore the demolished border with Mexico to import exploitable labor;
Create a Medicare Drug welfare program for the Pharmaceutical industry;
Accommodate Corporate America at the expense of the American taxpayer;
Transformed a huge Surplus inherited from Clinton into an all time huge deficit.
 
How long will it be before the American electorate holds these anti-American prevaricators accountable?
 
I just don’t believe that my fellow Americans are so cowardly.  I don’t see it in my friends or family, or all those folks around me.  But apparently the “Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid” campaign paid off at the poles. 
 
Either that, or there was some voting chicanery.  Normally I would say that was far fetched, but it is hard for me to swallow the results of the last two elections.  How can there be even a slight majority of hoodwinked Americans in the electorate?  I have more respect for the Average American’s intelligence and ability to see through the smoke.
 
If this obscene performance had been President Gore’s, how long do you think he would have been allowed to lie like this to the American public?  Five (5) years and counting?  Absolutely unbelievable!
 
Not that he would have.  He and most Americans could not have imagined such blatant lying by our government “of the people, by the people, for the people” to the people.  He and most Americans simply could not have imagined this anti-American behavior by our elected leaders. 
 
How is this possible?  I'm just Bushed!
