I like your handle. I like your logo. I like politcal activism and getting involved.

But do you have anything to offer other than bumper stickers and links to other websites? This site is an excellent forum for discussion of the issues and getting people to think. You're liberal - GREAT! You care - wonderful. Now convince other people that you are right, and that they should get on board with you. Slogans without substance are worthless. Activism without intelligence is insulting. Unless you are ready to really engage in debate here, you are nothing more than SPAM.

moronincharge, what is wrong with links? Impeach bush shows me some sites I might not normally find . . . that serves my purpose, which is good. Bush and his morons are doing more to convince people or his incompetance (to the point of insanity) than any of our writings ever will (in my opinion). Before people got fooled, but Only fools are on the side of this Bush retardo and his gang now. I like impeach bush and his links! 10 rating from me

You're right Prometheus, I guess that I am being a little bit snobby here. But I really dislike the campaign signs that litter our street corners that tell you nothing more than Vote SoAndSo 2006. It clutters the landscape and hasn't educated or empowered me. I feel the same way about easy slogans and political ads, but I should talk since I sell a political t-shirt with the slogan "The Worst President Ever." Hmmm, who's being hypocritical now?

Sorry Impeach Bush. You are not SPAM. You care enough to get active - now write about it.

Hey moron, the sad reality is those street signs and the negative ads are what the people really want- Whether it's King Geo Bush I/ Lee Atwater and the Willie Horton Ads, or Clinton's "Its the economy, stupid!" the middle class, don't make waves, just wannna have kids crowd respond to these.

However, they'll also respond to populist messages that really resonate- John Edwards Senate campaign in NC in 1998, and Gov Schweitzer in Montana both won solid red states with good ol' JFK-FDR ideas. Why? Because every American knows in their gut that New Deal and "Ask not what my country can for you..." speak to our sense of right and wrong. Its Henry Fonda as Tom Joad in The Grapes of Wrath, or Gary Cooper in Meet John Doe, and Who shot Liberty Valance?

It is our mythic American hero, and when the people are inspired they respond.

Anyway Phaedrus, it is sad indeed that these signs are there only to get you to remember somebody's name, but do nothing to tell you what they stand for. They aren't big enough to deliver a historically resonant message like "ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." They aren't even big enough to include more humble ideas like "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?" Even name recognition is next to impossible when you drive by an intersection with 20+ signs all vying for attention. I would not be opposed to making all roadside political signs illegal. That would at least level the playing field and put an end to dirty games like removing your opponent's signs in the dead of night. I'd like the same restrictions against billboards in general. We have enough commercials on TV, radio, etc. Do we really need the distraction while driving? Supermarkets have been experimenting with "smartcarts" that have built in computer monitors that will display product ads and info as you walk by them in the aisles. In the near future we will have computer monitors in all our cars (built into the navigation system). You could beam electronic billboards and political ads to passing cars in much the same way. It's still invasive, but I much prefer to get electronic spam than junk mail, and think of all the paper we would save. Just a thought.

Impeach Bush, tell us about Jim Pederson's position on:
o Border control
o Illegal hiring by American employers
o Enforcing the laws currently on the books
o new legislation, if any, concerning illegal aliens
o Mexico's government's meddling in U.S. internal affairs
o the illegal alien marches and demonstrations.

We await your concise answers to these six (6) issues.

And one more: please prioritize these issues according to Jim Pederson's platform.
