Peace Plan to End the War on Terror

Alternative Energy –
We win the war on terror when more people draw from solar, wind, geothermal, and other renewable energy sources. The petro products that we do use, we use wisely. For example, if all new cars use hybrid technology we will cut gasoline consumption in half.
We move out of the oil/coal/nuclear paradigm, even on a metaphorical level. We do this by using our minds, instead of running on polluted energy. The paradigm must change despite our politicians, who have a conflict of interest. History will show that most of them only tried to make things worse. They must get out of our way now, as we work toward a better future.
Out the Underground Economy –
We bring the underground economy into the light. This includes drug traffic, and other illegal trade, corporate slush funds, dictators' illegal bank accounts, deceptive tax havens, and money laundering. It takes a lot of money to run a terrorist operation, but legalizing drugs, for example, would be a big step toward cutting off their funds.
Achieve Transparency in Government and Business –
We deserve to know what our government is doing. Shareholders deserve to know what is happening in publicly traded companies. Period. This is essential to ending terror. Why? Without oversite, absolute power corrupts.
America Finds its Place in the World –
Instead of waging wars of fear and retaliation, overthrowing democratically elected governments, and trying to manipulate the balance of world power, America must find its proper place in the world. This means America must act responsibly to foster peace, human rights, tolerance, and cooperation.
Up until now, the truth about America's history of exploitation has been hidden. Soon, however, many Americans could get out of denial and demand change. Denial is human nature, but as George Santayana said, "Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it." We, as American citizens, must demand better foreign policy.
Summary –
We do not need these so-called leaders if they simply make enemies. We can start to build peaceful networks all over the world. Anyone who has a computer and a higher vision can get started right now. Make friends with someone in another country and show them that at least some Americans want world peace.

| Why walk softly? Let's just get that big stick out and swing it hard. Pull the troops out, drop a nuke, take the oil and fill our tahoe tanks. After all, they'd kill us anyway as you put it average. They've already screwed with us, So let's pull the intiative out and end this war now, 1 or 2 nukes would probably do the job.

| a1234, I could get behind your very thoughtful "plan of action". Why do we have all these nukes sitting around if we aren't going to use them. Kind of scary when you think about the fact that the only U.S. President to drop a nuke was a Democrat. And like most democrats, he didn't think one was enough, he dropped two, a classic case of over doing it. Sure am glad those crazies aren't in power anymore. |

Next time you are running down the road in your hybrid car, look over you shoulder and get the hell out of the way of me and my Tahoe.
As for our place in the world, it should be in front, rioght where we stand. If you are so infatuated by the way the rest of the world lives, please don't let me stop you from joining them in a life of dismal desparation and want.
They have the power to change their own lives, they just have to want to.
Lastly, you seem to think that if we are nice, the world will be too. Wrong honey, it doesn't work that way. The world can be a cruel place. There are people who hate you and would kill you on a whim due to your shoe color, belief in a god that isn't theirs or because you speak English. Don't be naive, the answer is a strong policy of "don't screw with us and we won't screw with you". Walk softly and carry a big stick is and always will be the right foreign policy for the United States.
