Subtitle: Grasping for Straws

The arguments put forth by the illegal alien open-borders Mexico/Aztlan-first lobby are, with just a cursory examination, seen to be as hollow as a scarecrow in a maize field.

A review of the six most hysterically blathered screaming points, listed below, may be debunked by following the individual links. There you will find a straight forward rational rebuttal to each of these vacuous “arguments”. (Simply use your browser’s ‘Back’ button to return to this page after each excursion). Here are those arguments in summary for your convenience:

Oh yes! I did forget one of the illegal alien apologists’ favorite whines – or more appropriately, attacks:

The HATE Card!

“Now it seems like you hate Spanish … “

And if you want to see a “liberal” that is obsessed with HATE, check out the articles by leonardclark . You might start with his comments on page 2 of the comments for Debbie of Phx at link:[az.vona.com] to get the bitter flavor of the HATE card.

These are two examples of those that profess concern for the illegal immigrants but who have introduced the HATE word and spewed the HATE word with unique venomous froth here at VofA.

Methinks it says something about that emotion in the breasts of some “liberal” illegal alien lobbyists.

Words speak louder than pious protestations of empathy.

I regularly speak the words ' Words speak louder than pious protestations of empathy.' when sipping a cold glass of iced tea in the middle of my floral garden. My neighbor does the same as well but he throws in the word 'bitch' after he says it.

Great way of saying the truth old boy...

I will have your chair ready at the Club.

In this one sentence, Words speak louder than pious protestations of empathy , you have unlocked half the code. The other half is "Actions speak louder still".

Liberals in general like to speak big and then act as if they never said it at all. But we are to judge them by their great " pious protestations of empathy " not by the results they produce.

It is very difficult to get around the propagandic framing of issues as this and the economy.

Framing so pervades our vocabulary and our life. Propaganda is SO effective....

I'm guilty of repeating that point, but I believe as you do that it is a rational statement. That there are millions of illegal aliens floating around the country leaves us with quite a few problems, one of which is the existence of a large demographic of Americans living in poverty with no prospects and whose numbers will be exponentially increased over the next twenty years.

I read your solution that involves cracking down on corrupt employers who practically fish the downtrodden Mexican immigrants with jobs, and I agree with that solution. Your take that they when the pond here in America dries up then the illegal immigrants will return home is interesting as well but it remains a guess as to how many will return south to their former lives.

You said, "the price of produce and services would rise only a miniscule amount, provided the barons of treachery redirected their ill gotten profit to the American worker rather than their purse." We'll see.

I agree with you again, it is Mexico's responsibility as a sovereign entity to arrange for its own nation's growth and prosperity. Unfortunately, assuming your solution to "dry" the jobs doesn't work, we will be stuck with millions of people whose welfare will need to be accounted for because they impact the communities and cities that they live in. That relates to medical care and jobs. Consider that their children and their children will have to eventually find legitimate work to support their own families, and we will be forced to humanely give them what they seek and it is because our government hasn't acted too late, it hasn't acted and will not act for some time.

I agree with you that it is an invasion.

I wonder how they would arrange for their families to come here illegally too. Anyway, their families are being born here. That's the entire problem.

AZ Moderate, you have written other articles on Mexico and the United States in which you have advocated our helping our nieghbor toward first world status. I wish our leaders on both sides of the border would dedicate us to that end. Within a couple of generations there would be no need to leave Mexico, and it would be of untold benefit to both Mexico and America. That is the long term solution, the humane and virtuous solution.
