Lou Dobbs just reported that the U.S. Border Patrol is cooperating with the Mexican government by reporting to it the location and activity of American civilian groups on the border. The timely intelligence provided by our Border Patrol allows the Mexican government to alert its citizens on how to avoid them.
Andy Ramirez runs the Friends of the Border Patrol which operates east of San Diego. His group reports illegal border crossing sightings to the Border Patrol. It seems that the Border Patrol has pipelined information from his group right straight through to the nearest Mexican consulate, at their request, to assuage their concern for illegal alien civil rights. Never mind American citizens rights and safety.
He said that his group found out about it when they discovered “actionable intel” concerning the group’s whereabouts and activities, known only to the border patrol, on a Mexican government web site.
The border patrol declined to be interviewed. Lou Dobbs said, however, that his show has learned that the border patrol was doing an internal investigation.
The story was broken by Sara Carter of The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin upon following up on a blizzard of e-mails she received. She said that it leads one to wonder what else it is that our government is sharing with Mexico.
A spokesman for The Minutemen said that over the last year they had watched the Mexicans re-directing illegal candidates away from their positions and had found it somewhat baffling. Now they know how it was being done.
The Minutemen also gave three examples of observed incidents over the last twenty four hours: a man approached them with a machete, and he was chased back across the border; a border patrol vehicle was pelted with rocks and bottles from the Mexican side; a man with an assault rifle approached the border. The point was made that it is dangerous for our Federal government to be giving the Mexicans information on the whereabouts and activities of American citizens in the border area.
What the @#$%!ll!! Watch your back Sheriff Joe! Your posse may be under observation by the border patrol. You might want to keep an eye on the Mexican government’s web sites to see how you are doing (or not doing).
What’s next?!? Are we going to have to ramp up our ordinance and watch our backs when our own Border Patrol is in the area??
