I know most of you are thrilled that the Democrats in the House were chicken to allow an up or down vote on the FISA Act this week. I am really happy they did it too but for very different reasons.
Now we can finally return to the good old days when our spying was done in the shadows. Remember Blazing Saddles? “We don’t need no stinkin’ badges”. Well this is what the Democrats in the House have just handed us and I could not be happier about it.
During the Cold War we were good at this kind of stuff. We could funnel millions into so called Black Operations out of the light of those pesky politicians who think they know what’s best for America all the time. I’m serious here folks. You tell me how a stay at home Mom from West Minister with a high school diploma or a Doctor with a PHD in medicine can possibly be prepared to make decisions about our need to know what the enemy is doing or, more importantly, how we should go about doing so. Let alone a 30 year veteran from the Vietnam era with a huge chip on his shoulder or a dim witted local politician with a background in hitching a ride to the next event who has gotten lucky and made the leap to the Congress.
Between the New York Times, Time Magazine and dozens of other so called news outlets sitting around Capital Hill waiting for some “Make a Name for Him or Herself” newly elected congressperson to “leak” information from whatever committee or sub-committee he or she sits on, they have effectively telegraphed our every move since 9/11.

Now, back to the article:
Think about how many times you have heard that the Government is doing this or that to catch the terrorist. Don’t you think the terrorist can read too? “Bush asks for help from Telecommunication Companies in finding out more about out of country origin calls” (none of these are actual quotes but close enough), “Water-boarding of terror suspects at Gitmo” or the big one… “Little Human Intelligence on Ground in Middle East”. These have all but ruined our ability to operate as we should be operating. You can not have effective intelligence gathering in the light of day.
It’s a war, not a convention. We do not need these busy body reporters running their mouths and word processors off about every little thing we do. What we need is a good old fashion Cold War style intelligence gathering outfit that can work off budget and out of the light of the prying eyes of the press.
I say great job spineless Democrat Doves in the House of Representatives. With your lack of courage you may well have just handed the Bush administration and future Presidents just what they need to win the war on terror.
But what would I know; I'm just an Average American.

You mean the peoples representative...those people who are supposed to represent us, not some gas or oil company in the middle east or some fruit company in South America......you know the reason for all 'blow back'.
It’s a war, not a convention.
No war has been declared, it is simply a business.
A business to redistribute wealth, from the middle class and poor.....to the already rich.
Off Budget Black Operations...
This would be the same operations that we 'profess' to rid the rest of the world of....Tyranny...Despots...Dictators....
Sure glad you turned over a new leaf and got 'reborn' again, because you are spreading some of th most vile Evil that exists in the world.
Beware of sheep in wolves clothing, for they are ravenous animal......
