| I can't wait until the next black guy runs for the Presidency. He will get to be the first "real" black American or "full" black to run if gets half as far as Obama has.

Mar. 30, 2008 at 07:45:42 PM Tiger markets himself as Cablanasian. He's a part of the post 80's minority athletes, who have taken the gains that Muhammad Ali, Jackie Robinson and others fought for, but has never done much to pay it forward, push the boundaries for the next... View this Comment I've stated before that the Obama campaign injected race long ago. Here is part of an article to that fact: Obama was the first to play the race card/span>Sean Wilentz /span> is the Sidney and Ruth Lapidus professor of history at Princeton University /span> Quietly, the storm over the hateful views expressed by Sen. Barack Obama's pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, has blown away the most insidious myth of the Democratic primary campaign. Obama and his surrogates have charged that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has deliberately and cleverly played the race card in order to label Obama the "black" candidate. /span> Having injected racial posturing into the contest, Obama's "post-racial" campaign finally seems to be all about race and sensational charges about white racism. But the mean-spirited strategy started even before the primaries began, when Obama's operatives began playing the race card - and blamed Hillary Clinton. /span> Had she truly conspired to inflame racial animosities in January and February, her campaign would have brought up the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and his incendiary sermons. But the Clinton campaign did not. And when the Wright stories and videos finally did break through in the mass media, they came not from Clinton's supporters but from Fox News Network. /span> Although Wright had until recently been obscure to the American public, political insiders and reporters have long known about him. On March 6, 2007, the New York Times reported that Obama had disinvited Wright from speaking at his announcement because, as Wright said Obama told him, "You can get kind of rough in the sermons." By then, conservative commentators had widely denounced Wright. His performances in the pulpit were easily accessible on DVD, direct from his church. But Clinton, despite her travails, elected to remain silent. full article http://www.philly.com/inquirer/opinion/20080330_Obama_was_the_first_to_play_the_race_card.html

To bad we don't have better choices for president. Tiger Woods best golfer ever and maybe will ever be, the mix worked out great. Obama just doesn't have the right ingredients to be great. Jordan on the other hand best basketball player ever with no extra spices. |

| Most bi-racial people consider them selves black if they are mixed african-american and white. Look at Halle Berry and Alicia Keys... they pride themselves on being black women as opposed to white women, but do you blame them. If you stick a bi-racial american in front of crowd of white americans talking about how great it is to be a white women, they would look at them like they are crazy... white american's aren't at that level yet. I have a bi-racial child and I moved to a larger city so he wouldn't have to deal with racisim and not feeling accepted with all the other white kids. In my opinion if Obama wants to claim his ethinicity as African american... so be it. He has that right. As far as Tiger woods I'm glad he markets him self as a black man... it helps america evolve and accept differnt races and ideas to new concepts. |

View this Comment Well that's the bottom line isn't it? If you look black (which for most Afro-Americans today is a variable mixture of black and white), then you will be treated as black for all intents and purposes. Tiger Woods will never be mistaken for a white man, no matter how many white people he golfs against. President Obama will never be mistaken for a white President. No, I'm perfectly fine letting biracial people market themselves as black. They'll never have any of the benefits of being white. |

The blacks have every opportunity thats all they have to do is do it, look at obama. The ones who say they can't , won't and that goes for all races of people. |

View this Comment I'm not speaking about the lucky few who make it as professional athletes. For every black man who makes it big in sports, their are a million who do not consider their color a backstage pass for anything in life, other than being pulled over by the police. If you think being black is so advantageous, then maybe you should get out the shoe polish so that you can start reaping all the benefits. |

Good question - but since he married a black woman, lives in a black community and attends a black church, my guess is he considers himself black v. mulatto. How far would he get on the presidential campaign trail if he was viewed as biracial? Probably not far - much more impressive to be go with the possibility of being the FIRST black president.
