With so much happening in the world it makes me wander how does an article like Forgive my Perversions, for you have sinned get so much attention. I have always enjoyed reading the articles and comments on this site but today I looked I read and found nothing to catch my interest. What happened to the good old AZ Moderate or even Average American and two of my favorite writers Cyrus the Wise and June. Hell I resorted to reading the jokes today. (They were quite funny)

I read that the war in Israel was started to take the attention away from Iran’s nuclear program. But in the last 2 weeks casualties in Iraq civilian and our troops hit all time highs. Does anyone think that maybe the Israeli war could be rouge by the U.S. to take attention away from Iraq? Rice goes to Lebanon and would not agree to talk to Israel about a cease-fire.

What about how quickly our government got 25000 people out Lebanon. Wouldn’t it have been great if they could have done that well in New Orleans? I think the U.S is more prepared for hardships in other countries than ours.

What about the heat wave that’s hitting our country record temperatures from the west coast to the east coast? What will the weather be like next year? The climate is changing and it looks like it’s accelerating to the worse in every category every year.

You're absolutely right Know It All. I've expended way to much time on that thread.

But I don't respond to DHard at the exclusion of everything else that goes on here. I would love to see more foot traffic at more worthy articles such as Indie's Get Out Now composition or SarahJames' Holy North Korea article, but I doubt that a heated exchange about homosexuality is the cause of the distraction. I have a lot more to say about stem cell research as well, should anybody ask. And like everybody, I eagerly await the next installment of AZ Moderate's always fine articles.

Anyway, I dove into the discussion on that article because I wanted to defend Crosshatch, and basically a position that I share. Gay rights is not unimportant, particularly if you're gay (no, for the last time, I am not). But we all have our own styles here, don't we? I usually jump right in to a debate; others tend to stay on the sidelines or remain above it all. Some of us has great restraint; I do not. I try to keep it clean, but I don't have a problem slinging it when necessary. I laugh at a lot of stuff; others are deadly serious.

But I agree, let's move on, comment on the real news, and write bigger, better, new & improved articles. There is a lot to talk about.

Why not be the change you want to see Know it all?

You come here June whinning about the content then don't write anything about anything, just lob some questions?

Then you ask about yourself in the process to csomehow give your other name some stature. Pathetic.

new content doesnt come up often because we're a select group of individuals. articles like forgive my perversions.. are popular here because no matter how old some people get, dick and fart joke articles are all the rage. and if youre bringing up the war, its only going to rehash the old boring articles and what not. no topic will make voice of arizona exciting like it used to be. its a broken cause that will always be boring and monotonous because the posters (outside of me and normalized) only post about government issues. but hey if that makes people happy then whatever.

There is a banner on the home page of this web site with the name of this web site. Next to the name of this web site it states “DISCUSS THE ISSUES THAT MATTER TO YOU.”
Now that means you can post anything you want to talk about.

So defenders of the perversion of homosexuality if you do not want to talk about the perversion you defend then please do not reply in a thread that is about the perversion of homosexuality.

What this also means defenders of the perversion of homosexuality if you want to talk about the war then please do!

antichrist, you make a good point about the lack of diversity of topics on the site. I know that I write about 'government issues' because that is what interests me and so I read a lot about them and feel like I can speak about them somewhat intelligently.

When I see an article by you or NV, I know that I am going to be entertained, whether I fully agree or not. And more often than not, I will learn something or see things in a different light.

I would like to see more people contribute here. The more contributors, the more diversity. Can't you recruit some folks to contribute?

Now AA, why is that you think Know It All and June are one in the same? Their writing styles are completely different, and besides, I never saw June as a shrinking violet who would use an alter-ego.

Indie, as I read it, June-whining is not an accusation that June is whining. It is being used as a verb like: I am eating crow, or you come June-whining to the political rally.

AC, most of time I find this site to be very interesting, and a bit addictive. But I agree, it is a small selection of people, and it would be nice to get more diversity of opinion. I have only been around since April. You're saying there was a time when VofAZ was even MORE exciting?

As for the latest brouhaha (sp?), "Discuss The Issues That Matter To You" implies "discussion." It doesn't mean "spam", or flooding the articles with "gibberish" meant for the Trash, or crowding out other members articles, or using McCarthy like labels against any who disagree with you as a substitute for real debate. We shouldn't have to tolerate it, and that's why we recently adopted the VofAZ Bill of Rights (BOR).

But as I mull over the issue, I believe I am uncomfortable with the charge of being the school marm, and unforrowing the BOR whenever it might be necessary. I appreciate AZ Moderate's intention to entrust that task to me, but I an hardly an unbiased observer, nor do I follow to the letter my own rules. For one thing, if someone is becoming a problem here, I am probably already in a heated exchange with them because I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut. That hardly gives me the moral authority later, when things get out of hand, to suddenly say, "um excuse me, see my BOR"?

So is there anybody else that we can all agree upon, someone most likely to remain above the fray, who can be entrusted with this duty? For my two cents, I think the candidates are AZ Mod, Bella, Milau, and . . . Anti Christ.

MIC, it was AA's last line that makes me think that he is saying that June is Know it all. But I will let AA straighten it out. AA?

Now regarding the BOR. It is not YOUR BOR; AZ moderate proposed it and I didn't see any objections. But, I understand your reluctance to be the "school marm."

I also don't think it is necessary. As the recent brouhaha demonstrated, it is usually self-limiting.

I propose this: a purely democratic approach.

If someone becomes abusive and disruptive then any V of AZ member can write an article with an attached poll. Now whatever the "boot-em-off" line is, I don't know. That might have to be another debate.

As much as I have disagreed with AA and some others, and even wanted to wring their necks at times, I have never wanted to see them banned. The are simply expressing their views. They are not abusive.

But when spam, and the name calling get out of hand, as with some folks, then something needs to be done. At that point an article is written, with an attached poll, and we present the findings to the ultimate deciders, V of AZ management.

If someone wrote an article that suggested that AA (for example) should be banned for his views, I would vote NO on banning him. In fact, in the recent case of DHard3000 I would have voted no on banning him, unless he took his name calling to different unrelated posts/articles.

This would relieve anyone from being the "police"

As for "My BOR." I didn't mean that to imply ownership. I meant it as in baring my concealed weapon in a manner to intimidate. Oh, and if your mind is going elsewhere now Indie, I didn't mean that either. I meant my gun. No! My pistol. NO!! My peacemaker . . .

I have my reasons to believe that June uses a few different names, mostly the fact that when she pops up so do a number of other names, then they just seem to fade away until her return. I doubt she carries a fan base.

As for banning, that is the sole discretion on VofA. Nobody should ever be banned unless they make overt threats and stalk people... I will comment no futher.

MIC, I did not mean to imply that YOU thought it was your BOR-simply that you had written a suggestion and it was taken to a new level (with the best intentions), with you voted to be the "enforcer." It was kind of foisted upon you, probably unfairly.
