Now that the NAACP is calling for the firing of Don Imus, I’m calling for anyone who has a membership with the NAACP to cancel it immediately. The hypocrisy is unjustifiable when they do not call for the false accuser of the Duke guys to be arrested and charged. Not only should she be charged criminally but civil lawsuits should occur as well.

The NAACP does absolutely NOTHING when black rappers and black comedians call their own niggers, ho’s, and bitches. Why aren’t Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and the rest, screaming and hollering about this? Why, because they are guilty of using racists’ remarks also, but of course they get a pass. If a white girl falsely accused a team of black players of rape, the black community would be rioting and demanding justice!

Too many people tip toe around black people in fear of “hurting” them. This is crap, and affirmative action should be over, I know that my son is not afforded the same consideration for scholarships; he has to pay his own way. Hey there’s a new concept for all you black folk, PAY YOUR OWN WAY, NO MORE HANDS OUTS, you ungrateful a******s.

I range from a light cream color in the winter to a light coffee mate in coffee color in the summer. There are parts of me that are alabaster year around. I have a very good friend that is a rich coffee color. We talk and have lunch from time to time, and enjoy each other’s insights and different viewpoints.

We agree, and I suspect that you concur, that we should celebrate humanities variations.

Having said that, you are right insofar as organizations of Man evolve, and the old adage that “power corrupts – absolute power corrupts absolutely” applies to organizations of Man as well as human beings themselves.

Now my black friend is paying his and his family’s own way. He does our taxes, and works very hard as a tax consultant. He is successful. There are many such cases, but they don’t get the press they should.

The victim mentality that you are describing in your article is nurtured by organizations with a vested interest in maintaining such a constituency. This bad for our nation, and it is bad for that constituency. Your point is well taken.

And you are correct about the accuser in the Duke case. Valid argument.

One difference between the black American and other minority ethnic Americans, however, is the way they came “on shore”. The black American bears a legacy yoke that colors his and his nations view of his place in it. This is not an apology, but rather an observation, because it has been pointed out in another comment that the Asian Americans and Hispanic Americans are to busy making it to bother with that victim mentality.

So what’s my point? Black Americans really were victims. It wasn’t just in there imagination. Others have jumped into the melting pot voluntarily, and have suffered discrimination, but it was there choice, and the degree of discrimination was much much easier to overcome over the generations.

I agree for the most part. These so called black leaders, and organizations like the NAACP, are simply hypocritical when they have to check the color of your skin before they call a crime a crime, but then point the finger at others for drawing a distinction.

I've seen the ACLU attacked here for the most ridiculous offenses, including racism. Say whay you like, but they, unlike organizations based solely on race/nationality/religion, are very consistent in who they go after and who they defend. One day they will defend a black man's rights and the next a white man's. One day they will defend the atheist, and the next they will defend the church. (They are currently allied with the Texas NRA in a case to protect 2nd Amendment rights.) What matters to the ACLU is the crime, not who did it. The NAACP should take notice of this if they want to survive.

But I disagree on one thing. When black rappers and comedians call their own niggers, ho’s, and bitches, it isn't racism. How could it be? Can people be racist against themselves? Sure maybe some white people lose sleep over what they did to black people, Indians, and God knows who else throughout history; but that's just liberal guilt, not self racism. I call some people white-trash, but I don't hate Caucasians (I hate poor people). So when black people call each other nigger, it might be a complement or it might be an insult, but it's not bigotry. When a black rapper calls his own a bitch or a ho, then he's a sexist pig. He fits right in with the white bros on this account.

MIC!!!! Damn it. If they (Blacks) continue use the words "nigger" "ho" and whatever else, they perpetuate the problem. And when the music that uses the words that are celebrated and mainstream (reviewed by the NY Times, Newsweek etc) then when a white guy uses the word "ho" they shouldn't be surprised.

Watch a Nellie video sometime. Tell me who is denigrating black women.

Blacks are perpetuating the problem? They are responsible when a white guy utters a racial slur? Really?

Nigger is a word . . . it's the intent that counts, not the sound or spelling. I would argue that if black people use this word exclusively instead of sir, it will eventually have to negative meaning whatsoever, and then white people of the future will be able to use it at liberty in polite conversation. Then we will have to invent new words to express our racism.

Now in Imus' case, I think the intended insult lies more with the sexist term ho, and it does denigrate black women. It denigrates white women too. And when rappers say ho it denigrates women too, because that was the intent of its use. I completely agree that rap music is sexist and mysogynistic, but it ain't racist when they use the word nigger on themselves, and it doesn't change a thing when a white person uses that word as an insult.

We've got our differences, and you've just "numerated" them. I'll live in my part of Munchkinland, and you can live in yours. Once in a while we can go out together for drinks and toss them on the Wicked Witch, but I'm afraid we're always going to disagree on just how all powerful the Wizard really is.
