Huckabee recently dropped out the race for the Republican Nomination. He was diligent, genuine, and perseverent. However, he might have had a problem with our founding fathers wish of separation of church and state. This is not malevolent, but simply misguided in my opinion. Conservatives preach about getting government off of their backs, but Huck supported the FMA(Federal Marriage Amendment). This would stipulate that the federal government make Gay Marriage illegal and irrelevant in all states. He also supported the Human Rights Amendment, effectively criminalizing abortion across the nation. Is it small government when we tell that 45 year-old woman on welfare with four children that she must have the fifth one? Also, these amendments marginalize our concept of states' rights. I do appreciate Mike's campaign, but simply think that he should have left religion out of public policy in order to protect individual freedoms and liberty.
