Besides the fact that Hillary is at best a B level candidate and will have her ass handed to her in a match-up with McCain, if she gets there by manipulating the system and overturning the rules as agreed to she will finally prove out in the open what many of us have known about her for years.. SHE'S POWER HUNGRY.
This tear jerker primary has finally started to blow up in the anointed ones face and the only hope she now has is to break the rules. "How many lawyers does it take to win a nomination?" will surely become the tag line following every commercial this spoiled, uppity, disgrace of a woman runs between now and election day.
Even Bill will not be able to shield his little angel from the flack of this one. Obama is about to learn how politics gets played. He may be a nice guy, but in the end, if you think you are going to take from the hand of a Clinton that which they believe is rightfully theirs you better come ready to fight to the death, either your own or at the very least your career's. Just look what Bill did to Al Gore back in 1999 and 2000. He essentially dumped on Gore by nit supporting his run. Why? He wanted his wife to run in 2004. But following 9/11 and her own pitiful performance in the Senate (as seen by Democrats who hate this war she voted for) it was decided to "let it roll" until '08.
I suspect that should this happen with Dean's approval the DNC leadership will also change. If Dean allows this and it then blows back as it surely will and a drop of it gets on Hillary, he's toast.
Dean would be the fall guy for Hillary's defeat and Hillary's decline from the public realm over time. But in the immediate aftermath, Dean's a goner.
Florida is just as touchy on this right now. Either or could dome this otherwise idiotic candidacy.
But what would I know; I'm just an Average American.

| My question has NOT been answered. A duck is not an answer. You are still supporting subverting the Constitution with a second secret government that is beyond the scruntiny and accoutability of the duly elected Representatives of these United States. We could funnel millions into so called Black Operations out of the light of those pesky politicians who think they know what’s best for America all the time. Funnel millions in drug and drug tainted money into trading arms for our enemies in violation of the law, is just what Raygun's Administration did. http://www.voiceofarizona.com/Off_Budget_Black_Operations-5031-2-12647.htm?mult=1#comments
What do you have against holding people (make that NeoCONs and CONservERtives) responsible for the law and their actions.... |

View this Comment Are you forgetting that their is this thing call the Constitution that provides checks and balances for the President. That includes Congress as part of that check. The President is NOT a dictator, no matter how much you would like that.
The Boland Amendment was the name given to three U.S. legislative amendments between 1982 and 1984, all aimed at limiting US government assistance to the rebel Contras in Nicaragua. The first Boland Amendment was to the House Appropriations Bill of 1982, which was attached as a rider to the Defense Appropriations Act of 1983, named for the Massachusetts Democrat, Representative Edward Patrick Boland, who authored it. The House of Representatives passed the Defense Appropriations Act 411-0 on December 8, 1982[1] and it was signed by President Ronald Reagan on December 21, 1982.[2] The amendment outlawed US assistance to the Contras for the purpose of overthrowing the Nicaraguan government, while allowing assistance for other purposes.[3]
Robert McFarlane resigned in December 1985.[15] He was replaced by Admiral John Poindexter. On the day of McFarlane's resignation, Oliver North, a military aide to the United States National Security Council (NSC), proposed a new plan for selling arms to Iran. This time, there were two new ideas. Instead of selling arms through Israel, the sale was to be direct. Second, the proceeds from the sale would go to the Contras at a markup. Oliver North wanted a $15 million markup, while contracted Iranian arms broker Manucher Ghorbanifar added a 41% markup of his own.[16] Other members of the NSC were in favor of North's plan. John Poindexter authorized the plan, and it went into effect.[17] At first, the Iranians refused to buy the arms at the inflated price because of the excessive markup imposed by North and Ghorbanifar. In February 1986, 1000 TOW missiles were shipped to Iran.[17] From May to November 1986, there were additional shipments of miscellaneous weapons and parts.[17] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boland_Amendment |

View this Comment Maybe this is another fundamental problem with conservative's understanding of the US Constitution. aa - And if you have forgotten the President is an elected official of the people. The president overseeing a program of black ops is not it running without oversight. Yes, the President is an elected official, but he can not be effective oversight of his own actions. This is the equivalent argument that drug dealers should be their own police, judge and jury. Our system of government is based on the premise that we are a nation of laws. And that is the point that Republotards have trouble with. From Nixon to Reagan to bush, the conservative position is that the President's actions are always legal. |

| "He essentially dumped on Gore by nit supporting his run." I'm thinking it was the other way around. I think Gore wanted to get as far away from the Clinton name as he could, which was s bad move on his part. Had Clinton campaigned for Gore, Gore more than likely would have won the election. Florida and Michigan are definitely touchy subjects - they're going to have to come up with some sort of plan where the voters of these states are not dissenfranchised, otherwise that is going to be a major problem. Florida and Michigan are sort of a no-win situation for everyone involved. Maybe they could take the 366 delegates (or how ever many there are) these two states have, and add them to states that haven't voted yet, or maybe they could take the 366 total and either add them to the existing superdelegates that haven't voted, or name some new superdelegates. They have to stand firm on the delegates not counting for either the state of Florida and/or Michigan, otherwise they're have everyone jumping in to be first next time around, but they need to get the counts in for the people of these two states.
