Many of us who spent our youth in Christian Sunday School and church remember the hymn "Onward Christian Soldiers."

Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus going on before. (refrain)
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
forward into battle see his banners go!

The composer wrote it about being soldier for Christ.

Well, no better soldier for Christ than George W. Bush! He of the born again Christian persuasion, who named Christ as his personal hero.

So what better way to inspire him and prove his righteousness in all he did than to give him a fancy daily intelligence briefing with biblical quotes and pictures of US soldiers and military equipment in the deserts and cities of Iraq!

Donald Rumsfeld did just that.  Now, it has never been reported that Rumseld is a particularly religious guy.  However, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Peter Pace thought Rummy was recieving some special instructions from God: "He leads in a way that the good Lord tells him is best for our country,"

Well, holy smokes!  Who are we to argue with what the good Lord is telling Rummy.  And for sure, if Rummy was getting some special information, he had to share it with Bush..that is what good Christian soldiers do!

Or perhaps Rumsfeld wanted Bush to never have a doubt.  He didn't want Bush to go wobbly, as Margaret Thatcher warned Bush Sr so many years ago.  Can't have any self reflection or question strategy or certain decisions.  No siree.  Marching as to war, with the cross of Jesus going on before!

So the DOD created this type of cover page on the top secret briefings for Bush:

Wonder how the Jews, Muslims, Agnostics, Atheists etc feel about this?

Speaking of Muslims, what do you suppose Saddam was saying during the initial invasion? Well, we know that he had a Koran writen in his own blood.  As one worshipper at the Mosque of War said: "He loves his religion, and his God."  Yeah, but did he have cool pictures of war with captions on the top if it! That is some religion love.  Of course, Bush didn't spill any blood of his own, or even take a chance on that when was bravely defending Texas from Oklahoma in the National Guard (before he went missing).

Oh well.  One man's righteous war is another mans jihad.
