Liberal Hypocracy?

Now before you all lose your minds... look at this from the point of view of those who think Obama lacks experience, then recall how happy you are with the results you believe have have happened under George W. Bush. Then take a minute and breathe before you go all ape s*** on me...

Bush's Resume-

Served in the Air national Guard
Graduated from Ivy League University
Founder and Owner Arbusto Oil Company
Co-Owner of the Texas Rangers Baseball Team
This is real business experience from 1978 forward.

Governor of Texas - January 1995 to December of 2000
This is real Executive experience for nearly 6 years.

Obama's Resume-

Graduated Ivy League School (magna c** laude)
Led Chicago's Project Vote- No Profit/Loss statement
Visiting Law and Governor Fellow- No Profit/Loss Statement - '93-2004
Illinois State Senate- No Profit/Loss Statement - '96-2004 Chairman Health and Human Services Committee for Illinois
United States Senate- No Profit/Loss Statement - 2004 to Present

Member, Senate Foreign Relations Committee
Chairman, Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on European Affairs
Member, Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions
Member, Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs
Member, Senate Committee on Veterans' Affairs

Now we heard during the 2000 Election Season that Bush lacked experience. To counter that argument those on the Right put forward the fact that Bush could and would surround himself with people with more experience than he had and that the "team" would supply the "Gravitas" necessary to lead. You are now unhappy with every thing this guy does and you call him incompetent and an idiot.

Now those on the Left want those of us not enamored with Mr. Obama (even worse for those in Democratic Party who support their other viable candidate, Hillary R. Clinton) that his lack of experience is no big deal because... Obama "can and will surround himself with people with more experience than he has and that the "team" will supply the "Gravitas" necessary for him to lead."

I'm sorry to say but I find that to be HYPOCRACY!

But what would I know; I'm just an Average American.

The problem you're missing is what America wants now.

Hillary ran on experience, and having been a senator co- Gov, and co-President for the last 30 years.

John McBush is running as the guy with all the experience, and he's a straight talker.

But time and again, Democratic voters (and all Americans if you believe the ABC polling on right track) are looking for a new direction for America. So if Hillary, Dodd and Biden were seen as the old way of politics, and Obama is change, then that is why he has kicked her ass.

McBush's only hope is to somehow present himself as representing a new direction for America, while at the same time saying Obama does not have the experience and McBush does. See, the internal problem? If 70% of America thinks we're headed in the wrong direction, and McBush tries to overpower Obama with his 24 years of being a Beltway insider, then voters ask, "wait, if McCain is such an insider, and things are so screwed up, then why should I vote for him?"

That is why the Republicans lost Denny the Hutt's seat in IL, why they lost the special election in LA that they've held since Civil Rights were passed, and why Travis W. Childers (D) just won in MS-01's special election tonite! It is also why Mississippi now has 3 of their 4 house seats for Democrats. Mississippi. If Mississippi is no longer a safe Red state, what is?

The answer to the question is this, experience inside the Beltway is not a good thing in 2008. Every metric is pointing towards the voters wanting new leadership, new ideas, and a break from the politics of the past. Which of the 3 candidates best embodies that?

I think we've been down this road before. The ability to serve in office is not simply one of experience, otherwise we should just keep Cheney and Rumsfeld in their jobs forever. Judgment and wisdom are not necessarily acquired from serving as a CEO (particular when the CEO in question runs every company into the ground).

But I invite you to lay out John McCain's "experience" for dissection. Most of his military experience was in crashing planes and sitting in a prison. Since then he served in public office the rest of his life. He's a self-made man by virtue of marriage to the heiress of a wealthy Bud Weiser distributor. Where are his business or blue collar credentials?

I think you are right about one thing here D. They are in so deep they can't feel bottom anymore so they have no way to push their way back up to the top.

It is clear that the man has so little experience, yet that was the main argument against Bush. It just doesn't set.

As for your argument MIC, bring it. this was a side by side with our current Commander in Chief and Obama. It is clear that Bush had much more experience than Obama but you think he sucks.

So how do you reconcile the lack of experience with some greater wisdom. Where's the evidence of it? the vote he never cast against the war? The constant yes votes to continue it's funding when you all oppose it so much? Perhaps it is his association with Racist from the pulpit to the Bomb Squad? I see no wisdom in any of those decisions if viewed from the position of liberalism.

Go figure...

Thank you Indie for identifying my error. Hypocrisy. In my haste I fell back on my African Genetic code (being that Africa is the cradle of humanity) and employed E-Bonics.

I'm going to say this...I'm a little disappointed that you would attempt to belittle his record for being a prisoner of war. It's not like he lied about being in a foreign country around Christmas 1968.

I'm not belittling his experience as a prisoner of war. But that does not make him a hero, and the only thing it gives him experience in is being tortured. Apparently he hasn't learned anything from that experience. A good example of how experience isn't everything. In fact, it's nothing without judgment.
