Dear Mr. Rove,
Last Friday you appeared at a Republican fundraiser in New Hampshire and accused Democratic critics of the Iraq war effort of “cutting and running.” You also said of Rep. John Murtha and Sen. John Kerry: “They may be with you for the first shots, but they’re not going . . . to be with you for the tough battle.”
Well Mr. Rove, at least both of these men were there for the first shots. When the first shots rang out in Vietnam, you were nowhere to be found. When the battle was raging in Vietnam, your President was AWOL from the National Guard and your Vice President had other commitments. Conservative radio commentator Rush Limbaugh was having his pilonidal cyst attended to, and Fox News chickenhawk pundits Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity also missed the action. In fact, nearly all the Republican leadership today has no firsthand experience with war, and their secondhand experience consists of asking young men and woman to go to Iraq and avenge the events of 9-11, despite the absence of any connection between the two.
These gentlemen you slander believe that our current strategy in Iraq grows the insurgency every day, unnecessarily sacrifices the lives of American soldiers, and has the inevitable consequence of civil war. They advocate a realistic plan of troop redeployment “over the horizon” – not, as you would have us believe, retreat. You are a liar and a partisan hack to suggest otherwise, but then again, that is your job.
Letter to Karl Rove

Let me refresh your memory Bella: January 18, 2005 Radio Factor broadcast: O'REILLY: "I've seen it. I've been close to it. And if I'm... my unit is in danger, and I've got a captured guy, and the guy knows where the enemy is, and I'm looking him in the eye, the guy better tell me. That's all I'm gonna tell you. He better tell me. If it's life or death, he's going first." Later, a Roger from Portland called: O'REILLY: We've got a caller. Roger. Roger from Portland, Oregon. What say you Roger? ROGER: Yeah, hey, Bill. First things first. You just said you've been in combat, but you've never been in the military, have you? O'REILLY: No I have not. ROGER: Then why do you say you've been in combat? O'REILLY: Why do I say that, Roger? Because I was in the middle of a couple of firefights in South and Central America. ROGER: But you were a media guy. O'REILLY: Yeah. A media guy with a pen, not a gun. And people were shooting at me, Roger. ROGER: People might think that you actually were in the military. O'REILLY: Oh... We don't want to mislead anybody. But I made it quite clear... quite clear in many, many circumstances -- ROGER: [mumbles something about being, or not being, "fair and balanced"] O'REILLY: [quietly disconnects Roger] Yeah. Hey listen, Roger. You can take your little "fair and balanced" uh... snip remark and shove it, okay? You're not getting on this air. Um... You, mister macho man, have never come close to anything I've done, down where I've been. So take a walk and... uh... 'nuff said.

Bella, I used to live in California. It was 6 years ago. Am I an expert on California, no. Just because someone was in a war does not make them an expert. You are a woman, but you are no expert on womens issues anymore than I am an expert on mens issues. Why you believe that thses men are the only ones who can have an opinion is beyond me. Kerry lied about his service, he was not in Cambodia when he said he was, Gore was a photographer, not a soldier and Murtha, while a committed military man many many years ago, is in disagreement with many other former military leaders those who are still active today and are up to date on the tactics and technology of our fighting force. And if they Kerry, Murtha McCain and others can not take a little pressure about their service or questions about their conduct they are weak. This is what Ann Coulter was tlaking about. When you enter the political fray with an opinion on a subject that may or may not have anything directly to do with you, then you open yourself up to be critisized. Victim or not, you are not untouchable and you have no speacial right to not be attacked for your slanted opinion on things. And the Bush guard story has been proven to be bulls***, Mary Mapes, Dan Rather and how many others had to learn that the hard way. You lie to the American people from the journalist box, you get fired. Burketts faxed copies of forgeries he had or created himself was not a story. They were lies, and the rest of the world now knows just how far the left will go to get rid of this president all because he doesn't cater to your twisted p**** ass view of the world. I am thankful as hell that none of you are in Washington, if you were we would be giving Iran and North Korea whatever they wanted, Afganistan would still be the home of terrorism around the world and Saddam would stil be killing his own people while snubbing his nose at the West and the U.N. and the U.N. would still be passing worthless resolutions to stop them all as they laughed at the organization. Lybia would still be quietly arming itself instead of allowing inspector full access and while the French and Russians continued to get rich allong with the U.N. General Secretary as the oil for food program continued to feed money into Saddams pockets for him to try to get more weapons to kill his own and others. You people make me sick as you get bent at Rove for doing nothing wrong. How many of you served, your fathers? What does it matter who served in Vietnam and who didn't. What if you or your old man did not serve and someone told you you were a p**** for not serving? Jesus get over it. A lot of people did not serve, for various reasons...Some like Clinton went to London to protest our involvement, others like McCain served proudly and were captured, others like Kerry did a limited tour than lied about the others he served with to congress while yet other had kids, were married, in school or had elder parents they did not want to leave as they were taking care of them. Who gives a s*** about something that happened 30 plus years ago as it applies to the men they are today... I'm sure they are loved by their families and are all are good men, but none are untouchable. Remember that.

You miss the point again AA. It is the spiteful hypocrasy that I am disgusted with. Yes, you don't need to have a military background to talk about the war. I don't have one, and I am very outspoken. But Karl Rove knows that neither Kerry and Murtha are talking about immediate withdrawal. They are talking about a middle road that breaks the death-spiral (and I mean that literally) of staying the course when the course is down the drain. He lies about them, he insinuates that they are cowards, and he is the consumate cutter and runner. It takes no courage to send others in to do your battles, but it takes a lot of nerve to disrepect them. I knew that you would pan this letter, because it has a Republican as its subject and he is a lowlife. It's just a reflex, isn't it? You defend this conniver, this shill, this hypocrite, this propagandist of the worst sort. If you want America to be populated by men like Karl Rove, you are certainly no Average American.

Rove and his evil minions will always attack Dems, no matter what. Bill Clinton was a draft dodger. John Kerry got Swift Boated. And every single one of the claims aginst his medals and purple hearts was proven to be lies, made by people who weren't on his boat, or even on the same river, or even in Vietnam at the time. Max Clelland left two legs and half of an arm in Vietnam got smeared as being anti American. Whoever runs against this evil cabal is going to get smeared, no matter what. And yes anyone can have an opinion on matters of war and peace. But if your an average warmonger who is to chicken s*** to go sign up at an Army recruiting station then yes, you are an fricking coward. I think those people should be forced to eat the flesh of dead Iraqis. If you go hunting or fishing, you eat what you kill. It should be no different here.

I say let every man or woman who believes the war is right and Rove is right Go stand in a line at the local Marine recruiter. If you are to old to fight then send your son, your daughter or your grandchild. And when you or your children come back from the atrocity of war. I hope some ignorant man who never fought doesn’t call them a liar. I personally know many people who have been there. Most of the people believe it or not that are fighting this war are liberal, just like the war in Viet Nam. You as a conservative might ask how do I know this? During the Viet Nam conflict only the republicans had enough money to buy their kids out of the war. I know this because when I was growing up in a poor neighborhood I had friends that lived in a well off area 5 miles away. About 90% of the guys in my area were drafted and went to war the guys we knew 5 miles away not one went into the service they were from republican families. They went to large universities and played till they were safe from the draft. And now again the rich republicans sit at home while the poor liberals die in vein. To all of you poor conservatives OPEN UP YOUR EYES they don’t care how many of your kids die in their wars ether. They will take them and lead them to believe its great to be a hero; our military wants to be there. And they are proud to die for there country. But don’t let one come back home and say it was all bulls*** because they will nail him to their conservative cross. Think about this, how many conservatives could they find that fought in any war during the last campaign? You conservative COWARDS go fight your own battles you pussies. And another thing.. Any one who quotes Coulter is as dumb as the year is long. Average American go f*** yourself A true leader must lead from the front and know why he’s there. This president couldn’t lead a parade.

AA, as I read your comment in disgust, my conclusion is this; You are truly just screwing with everyone trying to get your kicks. There is no way in hell that you can you be so ignorant. If in fact these are your true feelings, then I am left to believe that you will only do your research (ot lack of) without logic and or basis of the facts. Somewhere there is reason hidden behind your neo con beliefs. Just ONCE admit that you got it wrong. For this makes a more honest and noble human being. It is absolutely exhausting trying to continually debate your non-sensical diatribe of the issues. You are of William status on a different level. When reading your articles and comments, we are left to say.... "what."

If anything, Karl Rove is worse than Ann Coulter. There is the possibility that Coulter actually believes most of the fetid drainage leaking out her mouth. Either that, or she considers the act one big joke, like Andy Kaufman calling out female wrestlers to take him on. Rove, on the other hand, is not an unwitting Nazi sympathizer: He IS the Nazi party. Oh, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have called him a Nazi. That is totally inappropriate and outrageous - unless you are Rush Limbaugh talking about FemiNazis; or a Republican congressman characterizing Democrats on issues of stem cell research, reproductive rights, and the Kyoto protocol; or Sen. Cole (OK) saying that a vote for Kerry is a vote for Hitler. Let me take that back. Replace Nazi with Fascist.

Rove is the poster boy for the problem. It is about power-obtaining it, keeping it and growing it. And he and his types will smear, cheat, and steal to meet the objective. These people don't have values. I dare say they would go against their own conscience and belief system to maintain and grow their power. It is a game for Rove,Cheney and Bush. The American people suffer for it.

| If in fact the Republicans that have lied, cheated and committed murder by sending our troops in harms way based on lies and believe in the teachings of the bible, then they will reap what they sow. If we believe in "what goes around comes around" the justice of karma, then the people who have committed the heinous acts against others rest assured will have their day of judgement.
